Wow, the board is interesting today. Can't imagine what it will be like if these teams meet in the 1st round of the playoffs.

I have mixed feelings about all these guys sitting and the feel of "well we're in so who cares about these games"

going into the playoffs hot and firing on all cylinders is key. I understand MAF going home for the birth of his child. It seems like Vokoun was supposed to get the start anyway.

but seeing all of these stars continue to sit out is good and bad.

it's good because it makes other guys like Morrow, Dupuis, Cooke, Sutter, Jokinen, Iginla, etc. step up and elevate their game.

it's bad because I fear that Bylsma will try to put all of these guys back in the lineup in one night and the shock will set in and really hurt this team. this team has been playing like a complete package team. hard work, hitting, good goaltending, good defense, and a guy stepping up every night. I hope that that doesn't change when our top paid and most talented players step back in. because if this team tries to win based on names and talent in the playoffs, we will have a short time in the playoffs.

a win tonight really increases our chance at seeing Ottawa in Round 1. not scared of NYR, but why make it more difficult for us if we don't have to?

I've got that issue as well. My bigger worry is just HOW bad are they hurt? That's a lot of guys to just plop back into the lineup and expect the magic to be there.

I would really like to see as many as possible against NJ and Carolina, perhaps an opportunity to rest Iggy, Morrow, Orpik, Duper, and Kunitz (if they even need it).

Interesting that everyone keeps talking about rest. I know that this was an accelerated season, but let's not forget...it was only half of what they are used to. Even though this season went by quick, I don't think fatigue will be as big of an issue as if this was a regular 82 game season. If guys need a rest at this point, i don't think that's a good sign...

Yeah, I don't think that they need rest, and Bylsma has been adjusting ice time a bit for the last week or so. And they have had plenty of off days in the last month.

It's all about letting guys heal, but I'd really like to see the gang back together for at least one game though.

It's a case by case thing.

Once Sid's ready, play him. He's had a lot of time off, and he might be playing with new linemates when he returns. Same with Neal and Martin. When they're ready, play them. Martin has been out for weeks, and Neal wasn't even skating for a while. They need to play in games to get themselves back to the grind.

Geno and Letang, they've been dealing with nagging injuries, and they've seen action lately, so let them rest. Geno has looked fine as far as skating and energy each time he's returned, but his shot just hasn't been there due to the shoulder. Time is the only answer for that. I wait til the playoffs for him. Same with Letang, lingering small injuries.

LOL @ a Caps fan acting like they understand defense

Capper is one of the most logical poster on hockey here, just because his team struggled with the concept of defense doesnt mean he cant see quality when he see's it.

And I think she went to the prom with some desperate nerd that stalked her on the internet. So she's obviously into desperate nerds on the internet which coincidentally works great for me.

My fav part of this debate is how many teams will be out bidding Pitts for Cooke next year. Whatever team gets him, I WILL be trolling every thread with "your star deserves to get hurt because Matt Cooke is on your team" aka MAtt Cooke picked your team over the 10 or so others bidding on him and that somehow makes said team evil lol. Cant wait for it.

Seeing his wine "cellar", he might sign here after this season afterall, just to spend some time at Mario's house.

How surreal must Jussi Jokinen feel right now? Going from the emotional low of being placed on waivers to the honor of centering fraking Jarome Iginla in the course of a month?! Wow.
