I hope the key guys (Price, Markov, PK, Gorges, Plek, DD, Pacs, Bourque, Gio and Eller) can find their mojo again.
It's not like it's been one or two bad games, it's been like that for a couple weeks now. It's like we've been watching last year's team, bad at 5 on 5, totally rely on the PP to score a goal or 2 per game. - Symba007
I guess we have different definitions of "key guys" but you just named, literally, half the lineup.
IMO- Montreal goes as Price goes. When the team's confident in front of him, they're fast skating and tough to beat. It seems as though lately they've been a little hesitant to engage, probably because Price hasn't been at his best.
I think the other key players in this equation are Pac and Pleks up front, and Markov in the back. If those 4 guys are making a difference, the others will follow.

That's the thing. Price has shown he can be lights-out in the playoffs, and that he can be the second coming of Andre Racicot.
But the most amusing part of it all was that despite not being in the playoffs for 8 years, and having two goalies with zero playoff experience, Leaf Fans are immediately convinced that they're going to go 16-0. Some things never change... - 3M
Man, understand that they've been in some kind of serious depression. Let them have their fun for a few weeks, it'll be short-lived, but you've gotta know that this is the biggest achievement for the Leafs in the past decade (and that's not an exaggeration, it is literally their absolute biggest achievement).

What used to be the stength of the team is now their weakness, they now come out flat in the 1st period and end up trying to catch up after 20min.
Looks like they are exhausted physically and mentally, they can't play the system anymore, key guys aren't playing well and producing. It's not only one guy, most of the top 4 D's and top 9 forwards aren't playing well (except for the rookies).
Not looking good for the playoffs. - Symba007
Now we know what this team can do when they are not playing against backup goalies.
i thought the Ovechkin opening goal Saturday night was very telling. Ovechkin has the puck, yet Price is cheating on the pass. no confidence in his defenceman or in his ability to get over to make the save.

I live in Toronto. I'm well aware of all of the above.
What's your prediction if you end up facing us? - Tee-Dot
my prediction will be perceived as fantasy. But I'm sticking with what I've told people since before this terrible skid. I don't worry about any opponent Montreal might draw in the first round.
Rangers, Isles, Sens, Leafs... I think over a seven game series, Montreal has what it takes to get out. Can't say my confidence in that belief isn't mildly shaken, but as I wrote, I believe this week will be good for the Habs.
As for the Leafs specifically--I think it would be a tough series, but experience and depth is on Montreal's side of of it. I like the Canadiens' chances if they end up playing each other.
That said, if the Habs have a good week, they can easily still win the division. I'm not sold on Toronto staying ahead of the Sens, even if they have a decent margin right now.
