And you know what really bothers me about the Cleveland thing? They are so close to here. It acutally makes me more hopeless.

I just dont hold Miller in that high of regard as most. Hes good but id put him maybe 5th on the sabres goalie depth chart

Remove the name darcy regier from the equation, grade roster moves since new ownership took over. Since they claim they are only evaluating him since the took over.


2nd round pick for Brad Boyes (D - whos to say whos fault it was that he flopped but the GM needs foresight that a player will not mesh with the coach)

Stafford 4 year extension (D - Hes not lived up to it)

Ville leino contract (F - even though we cannot see his real production to see if hes actually worth the money, hes always injured which was a concern coming in and should have been forseen)

Regehr, Kotalik, 2nd for Butler and Byron (B- - seriously, 2 crap players for the 2nd would have been a decent trade, kotalik was irellevant, the downfall of this trade is that they never contended so regehr was brought in for a scenario that never happened)

4th rounder for rights to ehrhoff/ehrhoff signs 10 year contract (B - Ehrhoffs been good, not so much this year but nobody on the team has been. 4m cap hit for him seems reasonable. Was trading for his rights necessary? who knows, they also got a 7th for montadors rigths so it was whatever)


Gaustad + 4th for NSH 1st (A+ - 1st for gaustad, nothing more to say)

MA Gragnani, Kassian for Hodsgon and Sulzer (A - Could go up or down but as of right now hodsgon is far better than kassian and sulzer was servicable)

Brian Flynn signed out of college (B+ - clearly could go up or down but so far this looks like a great find)


Ott and Pardy for Roy (B - eliminated all experience at center, but brought in a much needed element and a servicable defenseman with size)

Ennis signed (B - hes been more than decent on a miserable team)

Regehr for two 2nds (B- - would have been an A but it was an admittance of failure on a previous transaction. two 2nds for a player who you will lose anyways is a good move)

Leopold for a 2nd/4th (B - leopold was well worth his contract since he was signed until this year, then he was absolutely miserable then still got 2 picks)

Pominville for larsson, hackett, 1st, 2nd - (B+ - obviously to be seen but a 1st and a 2nd alone could have been considered an OKAY trade)

Overall averages to a B-

I would say we hold on to things a lot longer than most. Ive been to a few road games some better than others. Never ever ever ever go to Chicago
