I hope for your sake that those rumblings bear some fruit.
Enough is enough.
Much of my disdain for the Sabres franchise came from a dislike of Dominik Hasek that formed during my adolescence years. After Hasek left I thought the feelings would subside but Regier certainly put an end to that. I just don't respect the job he does. - Gunner Staal
While Hasek's antics could be more or less frustrating, he was still the best player to put on a Sabres uniform bar none. Yes, that includes Perrault.
Bruce Smith was the same way for the Bills. People in Western New York for some reason don't have the patience for the "big time" attitudes that are often a side effect of big time players (with a few exceptions), despite the fact that they brought this city the closest its ever come to a championship. |

Not being a Sabres fan to begin with didnt help. I didnt care for his diving act he put on every time he tried to play the puck. |

The best chance to not have RR as head coach anymore would be the canning of Darcy. Does anyone know where Sully said Darcy could still be fired?
I would love to see a new GM and be like Jarmo in Columbus pulling off some big moves |

Don't get me wrong. I often rolled my eyes when I saw him do that as well, but I will also admit that if the guy is a great player, something we've seen very little of for either Buffalo sports team, I am willing to look past it. |

You will get no argument from me as it pertains to his excellence as a goaltender. Patrick Roy is the only goaltender that I definitely place ahead of Hasek. |

good news after looking at the standings is that there is a very slim possibility that we finish 27th.. highly unlikely.. looks like we will get another decent player that doesnt put us over the edge |

Tough to beat 3 Conn Smythe trophies IMO (Roy).
That said, you may be right. Perhaps Lemieux and Orr. Good company to be in. |

agreed
dom did have the greatest game ever for a goalie though
those 4 along with brodeur all belong in the conversation of the second greatest player in the game
I doubt we will ever see three goalies that great again in an era |

Can't. Its no surprise that those 3 goalies played a ton in the clutch and grab era. Part of why I elevate Roy above the rest is because he was able to thrive in the run and gun 80's as well. |

who would you pick for second best goalie as a sabre
miller or barrasso
for the record Miller is third on hardware for sabres goalies since barrasso won two awards his rookie season
oh and barrasso is also on the cup, twice

perhaps the biggest reason why Fuhr is not considered an all time great

Miller is light years better than Barrasso just like Marc Andre Fleury is. |

Agreed. Do you remember when people used to say how frank reich was just as good as Kelly? And how Thurman was average and how people wanted to run Smith out of town? This city becomes so irrational when we do not win |

I think most people who followed that time period have a proper respect for Fuhr and what he provided his team. I think Fuhr and Fleury's roles are similar. Play behind some offensive power houses, stats will never be kind to them, come up with big timely saves when team needs it. |

Super high risk, not quite as risky as drafting a Russian but still very high. |

Thats fine.
LIterally the only thing Barrasso did better than those two I mentioned was play the puck. Barrasso was the Marty Brodeur of playing the puck before Marty came along. |

American Kid in Highschool to come right to the NHL
I know a person who was a member of the organization telling me a story about the scouts going to see him play and nobody though a american hs goalie could make that jump. |
