Next stop...Edmonton, who got shutout by Anaheim on home ice. Think they'll be fired up for us ?

2 games in a row anaheim dominated the Oilers. Oilers looked like crap for awhile. $100 says the Oilers destroy the hawks like 8-3

Garrett's only harmless when we're winning....he's nails on a blackboard on night like tonight...but the Nucks EARNED IT..we didn't show up and tend not to when the going gets rough.
- philco28

What about the StL game. The difference was we connected on passes early, so they couldn't keep running around like chickens with no heads. Sure they need to answer the bell physically a little better, but you get that first goal and the whole complexion changes

I see your point but with a week left and home ice wrapped up it is hard to take any meaningful aspects out of this game. Hawks didn't come to play but come play off time they will....

Yeah I am not putting to much stock into this game, but the other two games were even games . I just think we are closer to even than most Hawk fans are willing to admit.

Honestly if they made some passes early this game is totally different. Vancouver was running all over the place to hit people and we just kept missing open guys. Hossa and Toews were brutal tonight. Bolland got hurt. As down as I am on Sharp, he's still a lot better than Frolik. Remember what everybody on this board always say, regular season don't mean ish. Also, why doesn't Carcillo play every game like the third period???????? He'd be a perfect player for this team

The Captain looked he was seeing the ghost of Willie Mitchell. He was visible in the 3rd...but the Houdini was pulled by almost everyone in a white shirt and especially by the head coach. The crud started at the top tonight. Q must have thought he was back in Hartford getting drilled through the glass for 80 plus games a year and TAKING IT like vitamins.

Canucks are better than most give credit...we'll see how things turn out. But give respect where it's due.

Getting the goal, yes, but as you say, completing the passes - making the short passes you CAN complete instead of the long, two-line passes - skating - that helps stops the crap, too.

What is really sad is most people laugh at how soft the canucks are. Canuck fans always sound like us saying how soft they are, yet against us they usually look like the Broad street bullies. It was pathetic. Most gutless performance in a long time

Again.....I go back to the point of trying to play physical. Bolig, Carcillo, and Brookbank????? You gonna put those three out there against the Kings, Ducks, Nucks, or Blues???? The way they played tonight...aside from Carcillo's goal none of them had any sort of presence on the ice nor did they make the Nucks hesitate with physical play. If I'm Q I'm asking them why the heck did they think they were out there for???

When the Hawks play physical teams it is imperative they score first....puts the other team on their backs and forces them to play the Hawks game.

Absolutely, but you know deep down the Hawks weren't giving it a full effort. It would be a good series if they met, as they have always been.

I agree . A Van/Chi series would be great . First of all it means we are playing to advance in the 3 rd round and the competition is always great. I think it would be great hockey against two even teams

Exactly. Clean breakouts and they can't hit us nearly as much. I'm starting to get really worried about Oduya in the playoffs.

All eight qualifiers are closer to each other than people think - no first round series -no second round series - will be a lock for the higher seed.

Agreed...the St. Loo game were we ON...tonight, we were out of sync from the opening puck drop. Van were a lot better and crowding us, taking away time and space and stayed committed to banging for 60.

One more fuking epic, hate-filled playoff series is all I ask for as a hockey fan.

People..stop comparing the Blues to the Ducks, Kings, or Nucks. Yes they are a physical team but lack the offense of the other three.....the best thing the Blues can do for us is rough up any potential opponents.
