If they sit guys of Keith's caliber, they don't have a very good chance of winning in this building. IMO, this is the one last game where they should play the regulars and go 100% before letting a couple of guys sit. - John Jaeckel
I agree to a point, but I would be sitting maybe one or two guys for a game at a time from this point out and definately dress Bollig and sit Frolik.
I'd be fine if I never saw Frolik in a Hawks sweater again really. The guy has no hockey sense, always chasing the puck and never hitting anything.
Oh, and there is the issue with the concrete hands lol! |

seriously , wtf is wrong with these guys using their sticks and elbows as career enders.
Very nervous about the llast few games, want the Hawks to be healthy going into the playoffs.
The Hawks should field a full line up and go balls to the wall tonight . If they sit back or even sit a few guys the game could get out of hand and thats when injuries are more likely to happen.
Of course I would lve the Hawks to dent Vancouvers goalie psychee a bit tonight . We'll see , should be a fun one. - mrpaulish
Goalie psyche? Schneider has arguably been the best goalie in the league this year. |

No, and I'd like to see Bickell play with Bolland and Kane too.
Then what do you see Frolik doing that warrants significant ice time? |

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.
--I thought Mayers made his presence known with some clean, big hits over the weekend. A nice little reminder to his coaches that he can play.
--The 100+ft goal Crawford let in, wouldn't mean anything if it wasn't his 2nd let in within a year. Remember the one in Nashville last year? I believe he came off the rails after that one as well.
This guy needs a big game in the worse way. I also think the Hawks have to find a way to get Emery in a game after tonight because they will need Emery and he can't come into playoffs having not played in weeks.
--Otherwise, I really see no need to get overly excited about tonight's game. Get to Sunday without injuries, and get the Rockford crew ready for at least the Saturday game in St. Louis.
Would love to see STL slide into 5th and have them and the Kings beat the hell out of one another. |

How about the fact that he's one of the best PKers on one of the best PK teams in league?
How about his speed, energy, and skill is phenomenal for a 4th liner?
How about he's the kind of quality depth player that Championship calibre teams need? |

For example , the Canucks have 2 bog dog goalies ,
Any single blow out loss will have the room looking at the other guy....
The more confusion in their room plus their knucklehead coach AV = happy times for us. |

First what is your definition of significant time....he comes in between 10-12 TOI per gme. Hardly significant. He is 3rd/4th line player who is relentless on the forecheck and outstanding on the PK. No he is not a phyical presence and does not score like he did early in his panther days. But he has been extremely valuable as a role player type of guy.
Also he can be slotted up from 1st-4th line as needed. Offers Q some options! |

In addition to what Ogi said about Frolik (which I agree with 100%), the 2nd line isn't the best option for Bickell. If Sharp is healthy he'll be the 2LW, if not then I'd expect either Kruger or Frolik there. |

If I am resting anybody after this game it is both Toews and Shaw.
Since there is no bridle that you can pull back on them, I say "it's for the best of the team" and that's that.
Shaw, to me, has gotten his bell rung quite a few times and imo, I let him rest the legs and the cobwebs in his head at least one game.
He has been playing during the lock out and let's face it guys that size who play the way he does, have a short short life, but I ma sure NO ONE is gonna want to sit.
And don't think having a posssible 16 home games isn't on the minds of the higher ups...that is popcorn and beer sales and that is where the dollars ARE made for teams.
Wouldn't be surprised if upstairs is gonna be asking questions about who is playing, sitting, just like the where asking for specific players in Rockford to play together and in varoious roles during the lock-out.

That was my first thought too....
then I started thinking...why should we softern them up for their first round match up?
and then retorted in the one person debate, "why not?" to
AV is looking to solve a few glitches in his team's play, but just as when he played, he may be more than willing to throw working on weaknesses to the wayside to play "whack-a-hawk." |

....more like " L I G H T. "
If some kool-aid drinking Vancouver fan wants to fall head over heels in love with his new goaltender, let him....maybe his team can sign him for 20 years too.
and when the boo this one out of town, they will say, "we KNEW he was ...ordinary..." |
