yea but they've still got a 3 point cushion on the red wings. It would take a horrible collapse for them to fall out. Would love it if they finished 8th and got trashed by the hawks. Draft day we would have something like 7th and 15th overall. - Sabresfan-365
Detroit has a game in hand on them, so it's actually quite possible...
If the Wings go 3-1, I bet they get in
They would just need Minnesota to go 1-2... And that looks very possible right now

Is that a feel or just common sense? - toddkac
Speaking of the Amerks, apparently they got an invitation to participate in the next Spengler Cup tournament. I think that's pretty cool, the fact that this is the oldest hockey invitational around and the only actual team from North America that's ever participated is Rochester (they first did in '96).
I'd want to see that, how our AHL team would fair against the European leagues.

Dude you need to go then, especially if the Amerks are gonna be there. Looks like you don't need to come over here to see Sabres/Future Sabres in action, instead they're coming to you.
WGR actually had a good point about Miller this morning. If Miller is the face of the franchise, you need to trade him if you truely want to rebuild. Miller, more than Vanek and Stafford, represent the last "core".
That is the main reason why its worth trading him in the offseason. Good teams still have a skilled veteran group on the team. Besides Ott, Vanek is the only other 'old' guy with skill.....

They only keep Vanek if he is on board with the re-tool and willing to help these kids out. Miller and Stafford must go, both seem to be cancer.

New Assets > Miller
Anyway you look at it, we will win more games with the assets we get for Miller then Miller in net.

agreed
I think he is gone as well though
once you move miller, it makes sense to move vanek as well because you are in rebuild mode
