I have to agree with Jack Edwards here. The only thing Matt Cooke is dedicated too is trying to end the careers of players that are better than him. He should have been removed from the league a long time ago and replaced with someone who actually has some respect for his fellow players. - dhamon316
Your bitterness towards Matt Cooke is noted and understood. However if you ever played hockey you would know that Cooke was trying to pin the leg not cut tendons. The guy has been clean for 2 years but nobody could make you understand that. |

I'm guessing Chris Neil doesn't make it out of the 1st period. But then again, that joke of a hockey player waited until the last minute of the game to go after Cooke last time. - rival22
JMO, the last thing Ottawa should want to get themselves in is some sort of retaliation type of game. That is the type of game that players often get lost for weeks or the season. They are fighting to stay away from playing Pittsburgh in the first round. |

I wonder if Staal is regretting his decision. He has his bigger role and the pressure that goes with it and it hasn't gone very well. Yes he gets to play with his brother, but lets be honest, most people never get to work with family members. If I had a choice of consistently being successful or working with a family member with less success, I'd choose success every time. It's not he won't be able to see his brother for months at a time in the off-season.
I like Staal a lot, but 6 mil was too much for him. He always had trouble stepping up when Sid or Geno went down. I think in years to come, we'll be very happy he chose to move on. - madmike71
I don't think he would regret it for 1 second. Gets paid like a rock star and gets to play with his brother. He's a very good player I think next year Carolina could be very tough to beat - he's just getting used to playing a new system and injuries to the canes didn't help. IMHO |

First off, congrats Mega Malk if you are on here. Good battle this week!
Pens related, Put McIntyre on the line with Cooke and just play the game. Given that the Sens have already said payback was coming, if they do anything stupid, I'm sure the league will take notice and is watching already. |

Don't know about Carolina being very tough to beat next year. They have work to do. Yes, the loss of Ward and Faulk really hurt this team, but it needs to add a few significant pieces in the offseason - especially on defense. |

Think if they win the lottery and get Jones?? That would be exactly what they need to help them. |

If MacIntyre is in the line-up, i'd put money on him having more penalty minutes then ice-time |

Why else did they recall him? I agree he might not make the end of the game. I picture the Sens not trying to much...

I think the opposite. If he had done something dirty he has to play and take his medicine but he didn't. But if DB wasn't going to rest a few guys before the playoffs screw it, play him. Mac is just going to lose it on someone if it gets rough. If the game turns into a poopshow I like our chances of coming out of it healthier. After Neil and Kassian they don't have alot of toughness.
Neil will go after Cooke and end up with Engellend. Kassian will fight Mac.
Aside from Cooke I think this one gets chippy. Potential 1st round match up drawing their battle lines. I just hope the good players that actually are playing get out healthy. |

I'm not worried about Neil fighting anyone. Neil ducks more fighters than Bryzgalov ducks high hard shots. |

Yeah I see that logic, im mostly looking at it from a "why shouldn't I play" type of perspective. |

I hear ya. Cooke will chirp them, probably turtle at least once, kill penalties like a mad man and probably score the winning goal.
Just Cooke being Cooke.
I hope security is tight in the press box. I have a feeling this will be Eugene or one of his hired guns view from somewhere high atop Scotiabank Place.

DB should make sure someone stays in the room at all times so this guy can't sneak in and go through Cooke's hairbrush.

I wouldn't play Cooke just to piss them off. Apparently the Ottawa media is hyping all the Matt Cooke hate. Nothing would be funnier than not getting a chance to take shots at him.
Actually something would be funnier... The Sens take several bad penalties that cost them the game making clinching a spot even more dicey. You would think they would be focused on one thing and that's winning the game. If they lose, there's a very good chance they get the Pens in the 1st round. That is, let's say, less than ideal from a Sens perspective. |
