I'm fine with Miller leaving. I think I have said before I'm kind of sick of his whole demeanor. I stick up for him because I think he is the least to blame for our issues as a team. IMO your right on, we in a cap era do not need a 6+ million dollar goaltender. Teams can win with Corey Crawford or Jonathon Quick, or even a goalie tandem, and I agree again with the minute eating defensemen. IMO Myers will eventually be that guy but it might take a few years for him to be able to play 26+ minutes a night and be an All pro caliber player. Ehrhoff is not enough. Again I agree, one of the biggest issues with this team is that Stafford and Foligno could not play top 6 minutes and support Vanek/Hodg/Pommer when they cooled off.

I dont think that is the problem. The problem is that it is impossible to get all of the pieces you mention. No team has 3 legit shut-down d-men. Nashville with Weber/Suter was as close as it ever got. There isn't one of those types of players available let alone 3.

I could see us being really good next year if we make some meaningful signings or trades. I think the Free Agent market will be good so if we can sign 1-2 impact players it could make all the difference. Teams like Minnesota, Philly, Tampa Bay, and Vancouver will all have to work hard to stay under the cap. Some players won't get resigned, players will get bought out, and UFA's like Iginla, Morrow, Jagr will all be looking for contracts (Not saying we should necessarily target them). I think it will be a buyers market this offseason which will help Buffalo who has plenty of cap space.

Unfortunately I don't see many defensemen that are available, but that would help us. I think we need another top-6 scorer, and another center that is good at faceoffs. If a serviceable starting goalie is available we could sign him and then trade Miller for a shut down D-man. I want to keep Vanek at all costs.

I blame Pegula. He told us what we wanted to hear when he bought the team and raised expectations to an almost unattainable level given the roster we have. Heck, his Stanley Cup quote is etched in glass at the arena; what are fans supposed to do? The team has regressed in each year since he's owned the team. The fan unrest falls at his feet; he created this mess and it will be interesting to see if he can clean it up. This is going to be the most important, and intreguing, offseason in the teams history.

Terry Pegula is one of the best things to happen to this weak a** town . He has upgraded your arena so it is the class of the league . He has already given back to the community far more than any other owner . He is building a hockey facility downtown that will help revive downtown Buffalo and make this a hockey destination . The only mistake Terry Pegula made was be too big a fan and have unrealistic expectations of what he had bought . I have every confidence he will right the ship and we will eventually have a perennial Stanley Cup contender .
You morons want to run him out of town because he has not rebuilt the team totally in 1 1/2 years . One of them being totally screwed up because of the lockout ,that he had no hand in . Why don't all off you whining female dogs break open your piggy banks - pool your money and buy the team and bring a cup to Buffalo . I imagine most of you cannot manage your own bank account let alone a NHL franchise .

There is a learning curve and Mr Pegula will learn , He is a smart man . As far as the arena two hours from here have you seen that ticket prices that go with it . Also Mr Pegula is not done yet . And the dressing room facilities are probably the best . I have been in hundred of arenas and stadiums around the world . And seen facilities up close . I just retired from the music business being a tour manager for large scale tours in Every Genre . Folks need to learn to go with the Flow . I am as big a fan as anyone and I am as frustrated as anyone . But the utter hate speech that gets posted in here ,echoed at arena and spewed by some of the local media are out of control

Yeah I agree with this. Brennan will turn into a fine defenseman but he's one dimensional and on a really bad defensive team like Buf we need all the two way/defensive defensemen we can get. He may have a better shot or be a better skater but he'd never crack the roster over pysyk/mcnabb/ruhwedel.

I was anxious to get Leo out of here (hear). I was very disappointed in Regher. I might be the only one on earth that has this opinion but Sekera can't get traded fast enough.

I would have played him over Leo but Darcy had to wait to get a trade for him. Worked out he got a good pick for him but he got raped in the return for Brennan.

I think you took what I said out of context; I agree that he is the best thing that's happened to this town in years. My point was that he set the bar extremely high and now fans are pissed that the team isn't playing up to the expectations that he set.
