Not exicted not a ton of elite talent on team probably a new goalie a new coach and vanek being gone - hafgod
If both Miller and Vanek leave, which I have no problems with, we will be a bottom feeder for a while |

The owners and players held us hostage in a lockout. Over money...Its all about the money. The product on the ice stinks. If I went to a rock concert and paid that much I would expect a great show. If players on any team want millions and millions and charge hundreds of dollars to see an event as a fan effort should not be in question. Its not a youth hockey. If I pay $150 for ticks $20 for parking. $7 beers I should at leat see a team that gave a crap. - hafgod
Fans arent entitled to a win by purchasing the ticket. Youre not entitled to having everything go perfectly for you every time you attend a sporting event. There's a 50% chance your team will win, and a 50% chance your team will lose.
Like I said to someone else, its time to drop your expectations from Mt Everest and come to grip with reality. The Sabres aren't and havent been as talented as other teams in the league for the past 6 years. |

Enroth was worse than Miller. That final goal against Richards was a joke, the breakaway to Callahan he doesn't even put up a fight. If Enroth is gonna start 20+ games next year he needs to be able to stop a breakaway once in a blue moon - sbroads24
I guess we saw what happens when Enroth doesnt play the Philly's and Lightning's of the NHL and he plays a team that actually is trying to make the playoffs. |

Wasn't the Boston game two days before a "money game" ? Is Miller expected to win out on his own? He has won 4 games this season while facing 40+ shots. That leads the league. How many breakaways were given up last night? I couldn't tell what team Weber and Ehrhoff were playing for last night could you? Isn't Ehrhoff a "money player"? He was a -5. Why is it Miller alone that gets criticized ?? - sbroads24
but you have to tell the whole story
that is where people get sick of the "miller lovers"
no I am not referring to you as one this is an objective counter
he has also laid many eggs
he was focused the entire first half of the season when the olympic starting goalie was on the line
why have we not seen that miller since?
he wants to be the man
reality is he just needs to stop the damn puck more then most
he is paid to be a money goalie, hence he should be a top 5 goalie and in the vezina conversation most years
not once in 10 years, due to a half of a season of exceptional work
honestly he got placed on a platform too fast and too young |

People complained that he got all the tough games last year and that was the reason he lost 15 or 16 in a row. I think it just might be that he's an average backup that is still very young. During that Tampa and Philly stint, he faced 1 powerplay shot between the 2 teams |

The whole story homie is that the guy is in the top 50 all time in wins and has proven he can be a work horse. The whole story this year is that we are the worst puck posession team in the league with the worst set of special teams in the league. Miller might be the reason that we aren't able to grab Jones or Drouin. I don't mind him moving on, or us moving on from him, same with Vanek, but IMO we are underestimating the amount of quality work he has out in, and seem to only want to remember games like last night |

Enroth could maybe be a starter someday. But not with this horribly put together team. Miller has masked a lot of our issues |

Holy penalties in Rochester.
Update: each team with goals waived off in the first. Now Varone to Balen for the pp goal 1:18 left in period 1. Rissmiller also with an assist. |

Lundqvist proved last night that hes not a elite goaltender in the league.
Gave up 4 goals? Pffft. Average goalie.

I would love to see a Sabres team that actually controlled the play and blocked a lot of shots. |

I blame Pegula. He told us what we wanted to hear when he bought the team and raised expectations to an almost unattainable level given the roster we have. Heck, his Stanley Cup quote is etched in glass at the arena; what are fans supposed to do? The team has regressed in each year since he's owned the team. The fan unrest falls at his feet; he created this mess and it will be interesting to see if he can clean it up. This is going to be the most important, and intreguing, offseason in the teams history. |

No single person is responsible for how you control your expectations other than yourself. Blaming Pegula for that is ridiculous.
The only thing you can blame Pegula for is who he employs to manage his team.
Everyone have a great Saturday night. |

If they build a team to compete for a cup in three years then I am all for resigning miller
But they better get three legit shut down d men that are proven. Not like rivet or regehr either
Legit minute eaters that bring it every night and every shift
They also need a legit number one center
An elite winger to go with vanek
Upside and consistent second line wingers
Not staff
Problem is I don't think that Darcy sees all of these holes

First 16 of the teams make the playoffs that's not Mt Everest.
Second isn't the booing because of poor play and bad management.
What other course does a fan has who pays for tickets have to shows the players management and ownership its displeasure.
There is way to many nights in that place its not the game its the effort.
Lastly if we would win 50% we might be a little closer to the playoffs |

I have faith that Pegula will eventually turn this franchise into something special. We have a rebuild in process. Our team already has some good prospects and young players in our system |

I agree with you. He not only set unrealistic expectations for fans, he transferred that undue pressure to an understaffed roster talent and leadership wise. The good news, he has begun the process if fixing it by first admitting the problem. He fired the 17 yet coach and traded the captain. Yes it should be an intriguing offseason, but this is entertainment right? |

I'm fine with Miller leaving. I think I have said before I'm kind of sick of his whole demeanor. I stick up for him because I think he is the least to blame for our issues as a team. IMO your right on, we in a cap era do not need a 6+ million dollar goaltender. Teams can win with Corey Crawford or Jonathon Quick, or even a goalie tandem, and I agree again with the minute eating defensemen. IMO Myers will eventually be that guy but it might take a few years for him to be able to play 26+ minutes a night and be an All pro caliber player. Ehrhoff is not enough. Again I agree, one of the biggest issues with this team is that Stafford and Foligno could not play top 6 minutes and support Vanek/Hodg/Pommer when they cooled off. |
