The only person who stood out to me at rookie camp was Pysyk. His skating is a thing of beauty. Very smooth, effortless skater.

Catenacci is a guy that we could use though. Our team speed is pretty awful these days.

i didn't go last year , the year prior they were doing some races with cones and Catenacci was noticably faster than anyone there, Ennis was there but he didn't participate in that drill, it would have been nice to see those 2 would have given a good indication of Catenaci against NHL speed

Ruhwedel is on an ELC. Those are two way contracts. Why can't he go down?
- HonkFortheGoose

There's a provision in his contract that says he has to stay up with the big club. I thought he could be sent down after the season ended though.

That would have been nice. I guess he's really worked on his defensive game this year as well. Had a pretty solid season from what I can tell by looking at his stats. Rochester didn't play him last night, so I'm not sure if he gets any time before the season ends to be honest.

Some rule states that kids going from the CHL to the NHL midseason and get ice time in the NHL can't be sent down to the AHL for the remainder of the season. I don't know if that's exactly how it goes but that's how it's set up... it's stupid I know.

I knew that he wouldn't sign with us when he did if he was going to get sent down. But once the season here is over, I don't see why he wouldn't want to go back down. Though by then, they'll be in the middle of the 1st round anyway.

I would think he could go next year too, but with the way he's played, I don't think I'd mind him here in Buffalo either. Him and Weber managed to finish that game last night +1 each. Pretty good considering there were 8 goals scored by the opposition.

Wait can't Armia be sent to Rochester too? Assuming the SM-liiga finals wrap up in time.

He didn't play in the CHL. He played NCAA hockey. It's different.

Yes. He can. Being that the AHL playoffs are slated to start sometime in the next week, I don't know that they would bother though.

there was a time last season when the experts had him labeled as a potential bust, sounds like he's coming around, speed on the 3rd line can really create problem match ups for teams ( see Roy/ Afinegenov/Vanek) from the driere years

not that i am implying vanek is fast

I'm glad we will at least get a short off season that should be pretty eventful for Sabres fans. Really curious to see if Miller or Vanek or both get moved. If I were Darcy or GM "x" I would be looking to get a premier young player. Either trading up into the top 5 or making a trade with another team for someone already in the NHL.

I don't remember how everything went down. All I remember is that there was a huge pissing contest about it. I'm not gonna bother trying to remember.

Let's come in 9th just to prove a point... That we'll always be content with consistent mediocrity.

I think the booing is totally fine they deserve that but the Bronx cheers that are definitely specifically aimed at Miller aren't necessary IMO. Not sure what realistic expectations people have from the goaltending position given the team is 29th overall in puck possession at 44.5%. That is brutal. I think it's remarkable that the Sabres are 8th overall in EVSV%. Sabres are 12th best in shorthanded save % yet are 26th overall on the PK. Stats don't lie this year. Regier once again dressed up a pig in lipstick.

Miller is very good. It is best for both player and team to part ways at this point. He put in close to a decade of very solid play contrary to some people's belief. Give him a nice send off.

For all the diva talk he never once asked to be traded, something he definitely should have done by now IMO.

Boo the team, boo Darcy. Save the Bronx cheers for somebody else.

- Gunner Staal

I'm completely the opposite, I think the bronx cheer is fine and the booing is stupid.

Ryan Miller was a freaking disgrace in that game, I don't care if the defense was bad, he played like someone who knows his time is done here in Buffalo.

really? 2 of the 4 goals went off his own player.

I said it earlier. If you put the paddle down on the first goal, who or what the puck deflects off of becomes irrelevant.
