When you spend $600+ prior to the season starting for tickets and the product we have had to watch all season is what you're given, you have a right to be upset. It's not being a bandwagon fan to demand more than what we've been given. A bandwagon fan would just stop caring and not watch right now. There's a difference. |

I can see both sides but honestly if you are that unhappy about my teams performance then don´t support the team with your money. - toddkac
You can't really say that though. The Sabres have what, 15,000 season ticket holders. So that money and those seats were sold last summer. Most of The other 3,700 per game got bought pretty quickly before the season even started, and before things got really bad. And no NHL team allows refunds to people who don't want to support a crap team. So either fans just eat the money and don't go or they still use the ticket they paid for and go voice their displeasure. Sure going forward into next year they can show their anger with their wallets by not renewing of at least scaling back, but for this year that money was spent long before anyone knew how bad things would get. |

So basically in one post you advocate disgruntled fans to not boo but rather voice displeasure by not spending money on the team. Then follow that up by saying anyone who does that is a bandwagon fan.
So there you have it sabres fans. Either keep writing big checks to keep those season tickets for a mediocre team, or say you're dissatisfied and cancel and be labeled a bandwagon fan. Of course that's not my classification. |

You know what, I've been on the fence on booing, I don't do it. But to show up and lay an egg like that last night, (frank) them. They deserved to get booed, and if it makes them want to leave, if it makes it hard for some to get motivated, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
They wonder why it's a morgue in that building? - nfph
This is about where I stand. When you lay an egg like that, the team deserves to get boo'ed. When you're tied late in the 3rd period, it's just stupid. And, no matter how much you think the front office deserves it, you're simply embarrassing yourself in front of the hockey world.
That being said, that game last night was all about goaltending. Of the 8 goals that went in last night, at least 6 of them should have been stopped (I'm going to give them a pass on the one off Ehrhoff's skate late in the first and Callahan's breakaway goal). I actually didn't think the team in front of the goaltenders played too poorly (obviously, they weren't great either), but they did carry the play multiple times throughout the game, even throughout the first when it was scoreless. Remember, all 3 of those goals came late. |

I can't speak specifically to any particular sabres game, only been in the building once this year. But knowing as many sabres fans as I do and the general vibe amongst fans right now, I don't see anyone really booing the young kids. Everyone I know is excited to see these kids in the lineup and are just happy to see some new faces. All the frustration and anger has been at the guys who have been in buffalo awhile. The players that have been there awhile have no excuse for some of the sloppy play and dumb mistakes that have cost the sabres so many games, and the fans should be booing, loudly. Angry fans are better than apathetic ones. - schiefer466
This.
Nothing is more pathetic than 19,000 people in a building being dead silent. It just screams "Buffalo sucks and were a bunch of losers ina town with nothing else to do, so even when the team is horrid we'll sit here silently like a bunch of zombies that don't know any better".

What do any of those do to show the team a season ticket holder is angry? The building is still full. You're not sending a message to the front office by having someone go in your place. |

No I say do what you please. That is the freedon we have but don´t be upset when the players don´t like it. Would you? There is a Seinfeld episode in there somewhere.

No I call it being an intelligent human being and a wise spender of hard earned money. This is where pro sports have you HOOK-LINE-AND SINKER. IF you really believe you, or anyone is less of a person or a fan because you walk away from the product when its repeatedly sub par you are the ultimate sucker and tool. And I want to do business with you. |

I look at it like this: you know the risk when you pay for the tickets. Nobody's forcing them to buy tickets. It's unscripted competition. Now, don't get me wrong, the fans have every right to do it, and there are times like last night when it's more than well deserved, but, there were times when it was just plain excessive and downright embarrassing. There's booing a bad product and then there's creating a toxic atmosphere, and more often than not, that's what was happening. I've been to quite a few other arenas in the NHL, many with worse teams, and, none of them, with the exception of Florida, had the atmosphere problem we have here. It would be one thing if it were new this year, but this place was a morgue in 2010 when they won the division, and things were looking up. Miller was having a career year. Myers won the Calder, etc. The fact is: we haven't been acting like the great hockey market we like to beat our chests and say we are for a long time. Maybe some of that is well deserved, but if you want the reputation, you have to play the part, period.
As far as the money goes, I've used this analogy before. I have my right to spend my money any way I choose (at least not criminally, anyway). I have a right to go buy a $100,000 Corvette. I also have the "right" to go offroading with it. It doesn't change the fact that it's still a dumb thing to do, and that just about every classic car-lover in the world would be more than justified in calling me an bumhole. |

They played a great 1st period. Until the last 2 minutes that is. Two quick goals both off deflections of the defenseman's skate in front. You hope that you're goalie can get at least 1 of them.
Then to put the icing on the cake, Miller pretty much gift wraps the Clowe goal for him. He may as well have just stood off to the side of the net and said, "Go ahead, shoot."
I give the team credit for continuing to push though. That game ended up out of reach pretty quickly but they continued to fight. I guess that's something we can hang our hat on. |

No, you got it wrong. It's not a matter of not supporting them because they are losing, it 's a matter of not supporting them because their management has decided to not try to win, i.e. if Regier is there, they don't care about winning. |

If Miller puts the paddle down on the wraparound for the first goal, like every goaltender is taught from mini-mites, the deflection is a non-issue. That was just a brain lapse on Miller's part. |

Out of those 2 deflections he allowed in that first period, I'd like him to get at least 1 of them. I'm not even expecting both, just 1. He also needs to really work on his puck handling skills because they've always been pretty terrible. For a goalie who's as good as he is, it's a major weakness. |

The third goal was one of the most angering things I saw all season. I understand Enroth didn't end up any better, but that game was over as soon as Miller stepped out onto the ice in the 2nd period. |

Enroth let in just as many, so he didn't really have a great night either, but it took him pretty much twice as long to do so as it did Miller. Neither one looked great though, that's for sure. The one that went in off Enroth's glove from out far is one I'd like him to get. |

Clearly, obviously, there were more important issues than a hockey game and the league absolutely did the appropriate thing. But it doesnt change the fact that I was looking forward to a Saturday night Penguins Sabres game. |
