If he does fire him it wouldn't be until at least the regular season has ended. There are 3 games left, what's the point in firing him now.

I think you overvalue Hodgson and Ennis. I could see Hodgson getting 60-70 points maybe if he has good linemates. Ennis hasn't even been good enough at center to stay a center on a terrible team. He could get 50-60 points on the wing of a good center maybe. I have no idea what kind of player Grigs will ultimately be. It's possible he could be that good one day.
- Pierceme69

Maybe I do
But they are both young (only 23!) and have gotten better each year IMO
They're on pace for 60points in a full season this year
Imagine what they can do with a few more years of development
I'll put it this way...
Roy was a 70point guy... And they are both better than Roy

Ennis this year had very little help as far as his linemates went
Foligno & Stafford really underperformed
Remember the beginning of the season?
The only scoring we got was the top line and Ennis
He basically did it by himself
And if he ends up back at wing, that's fine too bc we have Grirorenko, Girgensons & Larsson as center prospects
Not all of them will stay at center

And Hodgson continued to perform when Vanek was out, and he still has without Pommer too...
A Foligno-Hodgson-Armia line could look real nice in a couple years

I doubt Pegs has a replacement lined up already.

you're right they should take darcy out to center ice in every intermission and have a random fan come out and pull his shirt over his head and pummel him for the next 3 games

then fire him as soon as the season is over

The question is, does Pegula have the nuts to fire Regier today, wait until the end of the season or keep him for another rebuilding attempt?
And boy I think the fans are going to be ugly for these last home games!

- dansmail26

And on that point, I know Miller was just reacting to a situation last night, but these players have got to realize that, yes, we may be booing them, but it's also directed upstairs, to the last 7 or so years of futility, and how this franchise has basically become a joke.

Pegula, Black and Sawyer (ok, maybe not him, since he thinks of Darcy as a "hockey genius") have got to realize that even though it didn't happen on their watch, Regier is the one that put this team together. They say that they're judging Regier on the last 2+ years, but to only do that is not only naive, but bad business, as well.

You know what, I've been on the fence on booing, I don't do it. But to show up and lay an egg like that last night, (frank) them. They deserved to get booed, and if it makes them want to leave, if it makes it hard for some to get motivated, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

They wonder why it's a morgue in that building?

I think Weber has had a pretty nice season
I'd like to see him paired w Ehrhoff next year
IMO, they've been our two best defensemen this year
McNabb and Myers seemed to have some chemistry, so put them back together & see if that helps get Myers straightened out
I'd love to bring in someone like Muzzin from LA to play w Pysyk
I like Sekera ok, but we need to get tougher back there... He's the odd man out, and very tradeable w that nice cap#
Those would be my 3pairs
I'd sign Pardy or Sulzer as our #7
Let Ruhwedel develop in Rochester (even though he's looked decent)

Agreed, the players need to stop complaining when fans jeer them off the ice. The complete lack of ability to win 4 consecutive games this season is a prime example why. And I'm sorry, but going down 6-0 at one point in front of your own crowd? Unacceptable, you should expect to be booed for that piss-poor performance.

But also completely (frank)ing predictable with these clowns. Never pass up an opportunity to fold like a pink napkin when the game actually matters. Must win game, that's what they produce.

I question any player who isn't motivated by booing. The combination of your teams poor play and the public embarrassment of being booed should be enough to get you going to try and show some pride and do better. If a guy is just gonna get moody and quit because the fans are calling them out for being bad then that's probably not a guy you want on the team anyway.

I get Ott saying lay off the kids for a bad shift in a tie game. Fair enough.

They absolutely deserved every last round vowel last night.

Yeah I get that, but no one has the right to complain about being booed last night.

There is no way Pegula and Co. can take a chance of alienating the fans even more next year if they keep Regier. I didn't watch the game but I heard the booing was pretty bad. Mr. Pegula I appreciate everything you've done so far as owner but you are digging the Sabres a deep grave by keeping Regier on board.

I think last night was a neccesary reminder for Pegs that we weren't gonna make the playoffs and that we're still a sub-par team with a sub-par GM.

IMO the problem starts and ends with Regier. Irregardless of if he can do a competent job going forward a change is needed. Letting Lindy go was a hard start in the right direction. A drastic change in the culture of the organization is needed.

As much as it pains me to say it I think Miller should stay and then build around him. He wins more than he loses all while being surrounded by a brutal team.

Bring in a new GM/coach before this draft and put the old, loser region behind.

Exactly. It's bad business. There may be a waiting list for season tickets right now, but it could also turn around the other way very quickly. How many nights did the Rigas's have to paper the house just to fill it? Pegula and Co. better do the right thing this summer. And don't wait to do it. Day after the season, pull the trigger.
