Miller is not the problem with this team!
I might be in the minority, however, I am OK with Miller being here next year.

First part is right, but it is time to move on for both player and team.

We could use a good center.
I think that is our #1 need, IMO.

- Sabresfan88

U have watched our defense this year, right?!
Young centers & center prospects we have include...
Hodgson, Ennis, Grigorenko, Larsson & Gigensons...
Those guys all have top6 potential
The ONLY young physical defenseman we have is McNabb
And Myers has been so horrible that he's a big question mark to ever reach his potential as a "top pair" guy

Lol this has been our #1 need since lafontaine was gone and then when drury and brier left. Our retarded management does not seem to understand this. Teams that win the big one without #1 centers is few and far between. Hodge is not a 1a or even a 1b center. He is a good 2 a center just like roy was.

None of those guys you mentioned will be 1a centers in there careers in the nhl guranteed. I would put money on it. Hodge is a 2A at best and ennis is not even a true center he is a 2b or a 3a period. Grig i doubt he becomes a 1a and gig will be another goose watch.

Neither Hodgson or Ennis is a #1 center, heck Ennis isn't even playing center now. Grigorenko? Not even close to a #1 center..yet. Give me one franchise center. This team has been around for 43 years and has 2 maybe three franchise centers and one was traded for another.
- GilPerreault11

There's no guarantee that MacKinnon is a true #1 either
There's a reason he's dropped down to 3rd according to ISS
Does Nugent-Hopkins look like a #1 right now?

I know you WANT one, but they're actually few & far between
How many "franchise" centers are there in the league right now?
Not many IMO
They are hard to come by

And like I said before, there's more than one way to build a winner

Will MacKinnon?
I'm not so sure... There's a reason he's dropped to #3, and no longer talked about as the "next Crosby"
Franchise centers are few and far between too

Really think your selling both these guys short here. Hodgson could definitely be a 1b type of centre. Also Ennis' natural position is centre we moved him to wing after and if you look at his splits you'll see he's much productive at centre than wing. Sure he probably won't be top tier centre but he's slouch either.

Edit: Girgensons has way more skill than Gaustad ever did

As a 6th D-man who do you keep, Pardy or Sulzer?

i think you guys are gonna want to trade him in the offseason but i also feel like the return for goalies is never what you expect. that pominville trade was honestly a steal imo (well it worked out for both team but you guys got a lot more than anyone thought you would have) and i don't think you'll get the same offers for either miller or vanek.
- rangerdanger94

I tend to agree on Miller. Vanek could fetch a better return than Pommer did as far as prospects, but I don't think we get a 1st and 2nd to go along with it in that event.

I'm not so sure we bring back either
Pysyk, McNabb & Ruhwedel could all make the team
Plus we have Ehrhoff, Myers, Sekera & Weber
That's 7 right there

I guess we could bring back one of them & have Ruhwedel play in Rochester

That's what i'd do. I'd be careful to had Rudy the keys to the car based on a few games. Remmeber last year when we thought Ennis was our sure bet #2 center? How'd that work out?

If we lose out hopefully the following happens:

Philly goes at least 1-2-1
New Jersey goes at least 1-4
Edmonton goes at least 1-3-1
Calgary goes at least 1-1-2 or 0-0-4

If those things happen we would go from the #10 spot to the #6 spot which would give us a 4% better chance at getting the #1 pick.

I agree with that. We are too quick to put guys on a pedastal in Buffalo. We should get Ruhwedal on a 2 way deal and park him in Rochester with Pardy. Keeps Sulz as a 7th. Or something close to that combo.

U think ALL those guys are on the level of LaFontaine?
I disagree w quite a few, but I'm not gonna debate that w you
What I will say I tht MacKinnon isn't necessarily another "LaFontaine" either
Nugent-Hopkins isn't looking too good right now

We have 5 centers with 2nd line or better potential
I like where we stand there
Jones has stud defenseman written all over him
Can u say that about anyone else on our HORRIBLE defense?

I'm ok w Ruhwedel starting in Rochester
And Ennis has been good IMO
He's constantly had different linemates, and while Foligno & Stafford wre underperforming, he more than held up his end

Damn,
That would've been awesome
Too bad Darcy didn't think ahead and see Nashville was going to be worse w/out Suter
No one could've predicted theyd be this bad, but there was a chance they might have also traded Weber
I would've asked for this year's #1

You play all of them with Mogilny in his prime and just about all of them hit 100+ pts. By the way, I didn't say they were all better than LaFontaine but that mos,t except maybe Kesler, Benn and Bergeron, are franchise centers or in other words a center you can build a team around. The three I pointed out are better than any center the Sabres currently have though. Moral of my story? It's not as difficult as you claim to find a top line/franchise center. It is if you've had a GM for 16 years like Darcy Regier though.
