But one thing I think he's good at is acquiring talent
Bringing in a guy like Dudley & he can judge what talent will fit into what roles, and then move the excess talent for pieces we might be missing...

carolina game 7 was absolutely not miller's fault. ottawa eastern final wasn't either. neither was usa v canada. in all of those situations he took a team well beyond what it was expected to do.

team usa was MAYBE the forth most talented team in the olympics that year and they dominated every game outside the gold medal game where they lose IN OVERTIME against a Canadian team that was supposed to be an easy lock for gold.

miller isn't solely responsible when we win games, and isn't the only one at fault when we lose. i'd argue he's making too much money, but i still think he's one of the top 5 goalies in the league, and most of the advanced stats show that.

He's only good at acquiring talent when we are selling to teams. His acquisitions when we had a good team were awful and added nothing to help us pursue a cup.

If you think just because he traded Roy and Pominville that all of the sudden Darcy doesn't still overvalue his players then you have a rude awakening coming. He got a king's ransom for Pommer, and he will expect more for both Miller and Vanek. No one is going to pay that for players they could have for free next season.

they had the best record. not quite the same as being the best team. i wouldn't argue that vancouver was the best team last year.
