I am a firm believer that terrorists should not effect our everyday lives, unless of course its a safety thing. That's how these p.o.s's win, we are America; Boston epitomizes America an many ways. I can see them really wanting things to go as normally as possible.

The whole city is currently in lockdown and people are being told not to go out. Any sense of normalcy for today went out the window earlier this morning.

That is a good idea, but it negates the NHL's main driving force. The fans $$$.

Simple to handle. Tickets for the game could be exchanged for either a full refund, or a ticket to a 2013-14 game.

AFA moving the game by swapping places with Buffalo: once you start tinkering with other teams, you start having to deal with multiple arenas and whatever events have previously been scheduled there - and that can become a nightmare very quickly.

Never a doubt. The announcement was just a formality.

Lebrun just tweeted they have tentatively rescheduled the game for tomorrow at 1230 and moved Pens/Sabres to Tuesday

Let me preface this by saying I get the situation, I don't need to be lectured about the severity of the situation and the NHL is absolutely doing the right thing:

Pens just cannot escape afternoon games

This is going to come as me complaining and being selfish. That said I completely understand why they cancelled the game. You can't put people at risk for entertainment.

But I just came off a stretch where in 18 days I worked 17 shifts that started at 2pm and ended at 1045m. Meaning that in the last 20 days I have watched about 48 seconds of live hockey. So I was excited to watch tonight's game with all the implications and surrounding hype (playoffs, Iginla). Now that it has been moved to Sunday afternoon guess what, I am working a 7am until 345pm shift.

Goddammit I just want to watch a Penguins game.

Maybe we get lucky and they don't catch the guy until like 11:30 tomorrow morning and they have to move it until tomorrow at 7:00 like a realy hockey game.

I'm guessing with the 12:30 PM time, NBC is jumping on board and airing the game. They don't currently have one.

Agree with this statement... Most people won't but oh well...

When you shut down a whole city the terrorist's "win".

Not during a manhunt. If it became a regular occurance, yes

Furthermore I believe these two were lone wolves. They are/were sloppy. I posted this earlier today on Sabres board:

I am not an expert but I wouldn't be surprised if they are acting alone. They seem like "amateurs" as far as terrorists go.

Most terrorists do the things they are doing to make a statement. The groups or individuals will take ownership of their actions shortly after doing them to make said statement. Most scumbags of their ilk will also be willing to take their own lives for their cause if cornered and not flee. If they do indeed have the intentions of fleeing they sure as hell dont stay in the general area of the scene of the crime for over a day after committing their terrible act.

These guys are sloppy and were scared when their photos were released.

I don't know what is scarier, that "amateur" terrorists like these two can act alone and cause this much damage, or if they are not indeed acting alone and part of a bigger cause.

If the teams can get there tomorrow but the fans can't..... do they play in front of no one?.... That would be a huge hit with respect to income.

If they cancel again it's going to have to be played at the end of the season I would imagine

Well it had to be done, but this really sucks.

My brother is flying in from the west coast, and my cousin is flying in from Atlanta for the game that was scheduled against Buffalo on Saturday...we were all going to go together. They both fly back out on Sunday, so they are completely hosed.

Nobody's fault, but it still sucks.

Certainly possible.

With that said, the one that was shot was wearing explosives and a triggering device. Being that he was 26 and the other is 19 it wouldn't surprise me if they did intend to die, but the younger one has no 'leadership' now and is running (hiding) scared.
