nobody's blaming those things, just saying it effects a person's mental and social stability and how they see the world.

you are a product of your experience. Impossible not to be.

- Big_Lightnin

Well I did say to Dozzer before he insulted... that all folks around them.. had to be vetted.. investigated.. to learn from this incident to help prevent future attacks.

Just because I don't believe in guilt by association.. I still think everyone around them has to be interviewed and vetted.

The main one.. should be this punk on the run.. I want him alive.. he dies and they lose a ton of info.

I wouldn;t be surprised if the uncle shares his family's beliefs, and just said what he said out of fear. It's an angry city... don't want to be seen as taking the bomber's side.

thought of that too. A lot of his comments were clearly trying to deflect people from his family and Chechnians, Muslims, etc.

Living in an American Suburb has nothing to do with growing up in a country divided by war.

American soldiers go to war for 6 months and come back with mental disorders. What does it do to a child that lives in this from his birth to his teen age?

You don't think it (frank)s up your brain a little? Or is it that American soldiers are just a bunch of (frank)ing pussies maybe?

- Pecafan Fan

So what is the excuse of all the internal bombers and mass murderers in the states? Wore torn Texas etc?

Again nice bigoted comment about the soldiers.

yup, and they will be, that's how it works.

as I said before, a lot of us read the way you said that as they should be assumed to be involved until they are proven not to be. Not what you meant, but it's how it was perceived, which is what started this big argument.

difference being the american soldier went from stability to instability then back to stability carrying with him the guilt as well as the trauma

True.

But you don't think that growing up surrounded by extreme violence can affect who you become as an adult?

PTSD is a mental disorder, and there are experts who believe it is not possible to participate in war and not suffer from it to some extent, unless you are a psychopath.

as for the question - read bios on serial killers. more often than not there is some tramatic instance in their past that started them down a certain path, or made them start viewing people in a different way.

It is exceedingly rare for there not to be some sort of tramatic event.

That's not what he's saying.

These are people who, as children, witnessed terrible, terrible acts of violence, were uprooted from their homes, likely spent time in refugee camps, and who's family is now dispersed all over the world(Russia, USA, Canada, maybe Khazakstan)... they see their homeland still in turmoil, they live in a country where many fear and hate their religion.

That's a massive weight to carry. My parents fled communism before things got really bad... and some of the stuff they had to deal with is unlike anything you hear happening here. Just imagine in the years after the collapse how rough stuff was... even without the civil war these kids were dealing with.

oh (frank) ya.....the kid grew up with oppression/violence/trauma in the name of religion as the norm and comes to america the free and doesn't fit in or understand...in turn feeling guilty/confused and reverting back to the old familiar belief system for self security....notice the guilt on both cases

Charles Albright (serial killer)
Charles was adopted by Delle and Fred Albright, from an orphan's home. His mother, a schoolteacher, was very strict and overprotective of Charles. She accelerated his education, helping him to skip two grades. When he got his first gun as a teenager, he would kill small animals. His mom would help him stuff them due to his interest in becoming a taxidermist. His mother was unable to afford the true glass eyes used in taxidermy, so he used buttons instead.

David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) is even better. Birth parents didn't want him, adoptive parents hid the truth. Started getting in trouble as a kid, lighting fires, etc. but nothing major. Nobody did anything about it. Then he joined the army and served in Korea. when he got out, he located his birth mother. She told him why they gave him up (father made her). messed him up.

blammo

EDIT: Manson's is great too... will leave that to googlers. Really is worth noting how many are either adopted or from single mother homes. Manson's mom was 16 when he was born and an Alcoholic

What bigoted comment?

Soldiers get PTSD... not all, but some. That's a fact.

These people that commit these massive acts of violence have something wrong in the head. Be it from an inability to cope with society, brainwashing, traumatic events, etc. You can't find one clear cut cause for all of them.

Big L I respect your view.. you thought I was saying something that I wasn't, and were man enough to admit one of your comments was not factual.

It is opinion..

I thought the aunt was a Btch..

thought the uncles.. treated it better..

You thought opposite..

it is just a matter of opinion.. no big deal..

Did I insult you in any way.. because there was no intent..

Glucky on the other hand got his alpha feathers all ruffled wasn't man enough to admit his errors.. Hey with all the false reports going out.. that have mislead people.. he wasn't that far off. No biggie.. we all make mistakes...

Peca was trying to make me out to be bigoted but his comments were his own demise.. as it clearly proved his bigotry.

It is a debate gentlemen.. of opinions and some facts.. that is all.

No need for insults.

The bigoted comment was about American soldiers being wussies...

Never mentioned about PTSD.

also never said that childhood trauma wasn't an affect on mass murders.. actually the majority of times it is.. but is that an excuse... many kids get beaten they also don't all turn out to be mass murderers is what I was suggesting.. or serial killers for that matter.

Actually I am fascinated with serial killers trying to figure out profiles etc.. and why they would do it.

I just don't think you should blanket the guilt across ethnic lines, or religion.. that is all.

no worries...

points of clarity though - what you said Glucker was wrong about, I have twice pointed out he was correct, and co-oborated with the article from CBC.

Peca's comment wasn't bigotry. Obviously when he said "soldiers" he meant "some soldiers" return with mental disorders, and there is overwhelming evidence this is true. As I also pointed out, some psychologists who study it do believe that EVERY soldier who experiences war suffers from PTSD to some extent, and how they deal with it usually is the difference between whether they can incorporate back into society, or whether they eventually harm themselves or others. There are literally thousands of cases of this.

he didn't say that. He said they come back with Mental Disorders,

and that mental disorder is PTSD.

And nobody's saying the trauma is an excuse... just that it is the reason. There is a difference.

Ethnic lines? they ARE chechnians. They did live through the wars in Chechnya. That's not blanketing, that's the facts of those involved.

Maybe existing mental instability paired with being ripped from their home by a bloody civil war and relocating at least twice at a young age could be a factor here.
