At some point in time you want to give them a bit more though. Galchenyuk was playing well last night and it wouldn't have hurt to bump him over the 10 min mark.

Yeah, last night was not really enough.

But at the same time, I wouldn't put the pressure of getting the team out of their funk on 2 rookies.

I agree with that, but at the same time if they do its not a bad problem to have.

they don't seem to be but it has been a trademark of chechnyans. I was suggesting more if he's cornered in a house with people in it...

I agree that while the game plan is not to have the Gallagher-Eller-Galchenyuk at much more than 12 mins per game, there's nothing wrong with adapting your game plan on the fly based on what's going on in the game. That's what Therrien was doing when they were winning. Galchenyuk got to 14-15 minutes some nights when he was playing not even as good as he is playing now. Desharnais and Moen and Ryder have sat full periods and I'd say that Moen, at this point, is lucky there are injuries because he deserves a game in the press box.

Thanks for the explanation of what a hostage is.

I don't think they intended to take a hostage. They wanted the car, and they took the car with the guy in it. When they realized that, they let him go. Usually, hostages are taken for leverage in future negotiations with authorities. Knowing that they wouldn't be doing any of that, they let him go.

yaaaa...DDs issue is defensive, so (frank)ing weak on the back check. Bourque does have some timing issues on offense to work out but it looks like he's getting involved again.
- Pie

M'eh. It was a 4v4. They didn't need Desharnais on the defense, they weren't outnumbered.

Markov got caught at the blue line flat footed. That's what created the goal. And then Markov got fooled by the rebound that went through his skates. Dunno what he was doing on that play, should've covered his man rather than just stand there and look at the parade go by.

That's a nice story trying to defend the little French dude. He is awful defensively, regardless of what Markov did on this particular play.

I see people that want him on PP. But as talented as he is, he doesn't have much chemistry with the rest of the PP waves. I think he does practice with the special teams though, but his puck management on PP is not up par to throw him in there without teaching him a bit.

He had a chance yesterday on PP, but threw the puck in the corner in a spot where it was pretty easy for the D to retrieve it and throw it down the ice. With experience he'll learn how to place the puck in certain spots, and how to entry on PP.
