me either that's why I'm asking, I gather single malt is better than blended but that's about it - Rayven
To be honest I might have guessed that.
I also believe that older is supposed to be better. |

Have you tried a Midnight? A pint of stout mixed with 35ml of porto. Surprisingly good. - _nay_
You don't say...
Might try it though. An ounce of Cognac in a pint of St.Ambroise stout (called a Highland Ghost) is also a nice beer based drink. |

Have you tried some of the better scotch? The entry level stuff is putrid. |

Foutain enters a bar and asks for a scotch,
Bartender : What's the occasion?
Fountain : My first BJ
Bartender : Nice, let's make it a double !
Fountain : Nah, a single should wash off the taste... |

I suggest you ask an SAQ employee for something that isn't too "strong" at first and then you slowly move up the chart (yes they do have a chart for that). Something like a Glenfiddich 12yrs.
Always go for Single malt. Always.
If the taste of scotch is too strong, go with Cognac. - Pecafan Fan

less peat is a good start, and it doesn't have to be a single malt - chill a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, it's a good way to easy in |

I've bought a book on "panachés" (fancy french name for beer based drinks). Pretty good ideas in there. |

Glenmorangie original at less than $70 is pretty good. Cardhu at $75 is also good, heavy peat taste. The Macallan 12 year at just over $90 is very good, although the 15 yr old is much better the price is over $100. - golfingsince
found it, thanks |

At the Voie Maltée in Saguenay they have a shooter called "Amour noir", it's dark beer mixed with Amarula I think...really good. |
