Sadly the team doesn't trust him to play it, more than once he got a call of "Leave it" from the D which ended up in a turnover. Not necessarily Bryz's fault... Of course whenever they told him nothing he played it right to the Devils, so kinda damned if ya do or damned if ya don't.
However, that scramble in front of the net when Gagne tried to pass Bryz back a rebound and the Devil's almost scored? REALLY!?!

That has nothing to do with trusting the Goalie to play the puck. That is routine conversation between Defenseman and Goalies on the ice. The Defenseman are telling him to leave it because they feel that is the right play, not because they don't trust him to play the puck.

There really was no reason to play Bryz. If they wanted to play Bryz because it was an elimination game then why was Mason playing so much the past week? Mason had been playing well and the end of the season should be more about evaluating him than trying to show Bryz that management still has confidence in him by playing him.

I think it was more about not embarrassing him and Briere by letting them sit than trying to win.

Sure there was a reason to play Bryz. He is the team's #1 starting Goalie.

If they played like that because they don't like their goalie, then they can all go because that is akin to 12 year old girls. Seriously, Marc you're smarter than that.

This is the kind of stuff that you're going to start reading. And the where there's smoke there's fire statements. Even if the smoke is invented and fantasy.

All I can say is they showed a lot less effort against NJ then the NYRs game.

Maybe fatigue, maybe playing against the NJ Devils system.

I don't think they are doing it consciously, but I think they had a sag from one game to the next. Maybe it has nothing to do with the goalies. Will have to see if it is apparent in future games.
