Not just lost a fight, but he got KO'd by a much lower quality fighter. |

Who will provide the secondary scoring you speak of?
Kessler, for whatever reason, doesn't really provide much scoring in the playoffs, and I know a lot of that has to do with injuries.
Roy? I don't see that happening.
You'd be surprised, but I think Kassian, if played correctly and given the right opportunity, could be very solid in the playoffs. But, unfortunately for Canuck fans, AV is the coach and he has no idea what to do with Kassian. - RedwingsAreKHL
Yup, line combinations have been pretty bad, many fans here agree with you on AV. If I were the coach I would have
Sedin/Sedin/Kassian
Burrows/Roy/Kesler
Raymond/Schroeder/Hansen
Weise/Lapiere/Sestito
When Higgins is healthy he plays with Roy+Kesler, Burrows goes back to the first line, Kassian either to the third or fourth depending on who he works better with.
Roy has shown he has great ability to find the open forward and he is willing to go to the net. He may not be "tough", but he'll get dirty, and he's a good diver |

So he isn't a fighter.... he is a top 3 d man that will fight.... and he isn't that big... in other words you have no point. |

Kostopolous is a decent fighter. And Bieksa won the rematch. Can't win em all—lucky punches have to land sometimes. |

I like Kesler as a center. The Canucks need to get back to their root. Bother the hell out of the opponent, dive, talk smack, play dirty. Why AV took all of this (except for the diving) out of them perplexes me. That's what made them a formidable and hated team. |

Kesler is much better on the face-off, and is a tenacious back checker, but he doesn't distribute the puck well and he likes to shoot more. That's why him and Raymond and him and Booth were so ineffective in the past. Roy is a great passer.
Here's the thing, before the Nashville game, AV had Kesler practicing on the wing with Roy. Then, for the game, Roy was on Kesler's wing and AV said "it makes no difference in our system because after the face-off its F1, F2 and F3, not LW, C and RW. If that's the case, why is it that Roy is on the wing instead of Kesler? I think it's an ego thing instead of a what makes the most sense for the team and gives them the best chance to win. |

You do realize that history doesn't always repeat itself.
Kesler was very good in the 2011 playoffs, until the Boston series, both defensively, and in terms of secondary scoring. The D scoring dried up that year and last.
You can write off Roy if you want, but he's shown decent chemistry with Kesler in a short sample size, and it's the first time the Canucks will have another decent playmaking centre in the playoffs.
Agreed about Kassian/AV. |

Are you talking about a team from 7* years ago that used a line of Matt Cooke Jarko Ruuto and Alex burrows? cause thats the ultimate sh*t disturber line we've ever had
*Not sure if how long ago it was, just took a guess |

1040 guys just shot down a caller for suggesting Schroeder should be up instead of Ebbett—obviously they didn't see the shot differential with Ebbett on the ice last night...
And despite his small stature, Schroeder is much stronger along the boards than Ebbett, who was embarrassingly weak.
This city needs better media guys to follow the Canucks. |

He can tip a 100 MPH slap shot with a hockey blade so he's not that badly off. I'm not sure how much tennis he's played but he's a pretty damn good athlete. I think he'll get smoked but be able to play the 2nd serves. |
