We are on a similar course; out of the PO for 3yrs before realizing in yr 4 that it's not working and the commencment of an expressed rebuild. Or in our case "retool." Whatever the hell that means.

If it's any consolation, most of us are well aware of our incompetence. If they make the playoffs next year, Tambellini will be assured his place as the worst GM in Oilers history. Which is kinda unfair but whaddaya do?

McT is a smart guy. Probably the smartest guy in your management group. I thought it was a good move. He'll be more aggressive in making something happen to get your super kids some help. The window doesn't stay open for long and I think McT knows that. I like that he said he'll take risks; scary but it should feel like an exciting time in Shelbyville.

I know you're asking for Oiler input but I can see EDM 1st defiinitly being up for bids and possibly Yaks. He's too much like a Hall. Remove redundancy for something actually needed like a 2nd line C or top 4 physical D.

My question is, does Gagner get moved because of contract demands or other reasons?

The people that hated him hated him for the same reason skilled players hate defensive coaches, yet 10 years down the road they praise that coach they hated. On a lower level, Brodziak, told media that all that crap he thought MacT was making up ended up being right and is thankful that he had someone bugging him.

Simply put, hard working defensive players got the benefit of the doubt and trust from MacT. Skilled guys were forced to play with less skill.
