Think they reach a deal to re sign Gagne?
I hope so, plus I like how Homer pronounces Simon.

- Marc D

Unless Gagne sign real cheap. Not for a while.

If they are limited for roster spots,
I would have preferred Adam Hall over Rosehill.

- Marc D

So would I. But roster spots aren't really an issue as far a re-signing players. I hope Hall returns.

Flyers re-sign Rosehill and Rinaldo to two year extensions, per team's twitter feed
- Jsaquella

I saw this coming when they traded for him. Ugh.

EDIT: Rosehill, that is. Glad Rinaldo's been re-upped.

After the re-signings of Rinaldo and Rosehill, the Flyers are at 39 contracts for next season. This includes guys like Flanagan and Stolarz, as well as Pronger and Bourdon

As long as he is making less then $925K a year in the deal. No problems.

Had to have seen it coming. You don't trade a player for a guy and then don't re-sign him. Rosehill hasn't been bad in his role. My issue is more with carrying a goon than Rosehill specifically, although he's probably going to be about half of Shelley's hit

After concerns over being near the contract limit lately, I really don't like it. Even if we can banish the cap hit. I would've preferred to see Gagne and/or Hall re-upped before Rosehill was considered for extension.

I would've preferred Hall also. But we don't know what the player wants. And tagging space is an issue with Gagne. Trust me, this isn't random by the Flyers. They have a plan.

In 68 games Darnell Nurse had 12 power play points (2 goals 10 assists) & 2 shorthanded assists.

In 63 games Nikita Zadorov has 8 power play points (1 goal 7 assists) & no points shorthanded

I hope so. I know it's a topic that's been done to death, but management's insistence on having an enforcer on hand frustrates me, especially when they sign one before or at the start of free agency.

Zadorov is the defensive tough dman. Nurse is OFD. 2 totally different players

Glad Rinaldo has been re upped. Very happy. Anything under 1.5M is solid.
Rosehill is a bit of a head scratcher. Hope it's not Shelley money...

I'm passing along info, people can make of it what they will. However the London Knights are bringing Zadorov along at a slower pace then many teams would because they are a very deep team.

I'm just not sure that Rosehill is strictly an enforcer. He can play a 4th line role. He's a decent skater and can get in on the forecheck, and take the body. The Flyers are going to need players with low Cap hits that can provide some veteran play. Rosehill fits that bill. And if having a player like Rosehill at a guesstimate of around 600K, allows them to do other things, with more higher profile roles. Then I'm fine with it.

I don't understand how anyone could get worked up over extending Rinaldo's deal. If Jake V wasn't making himself into an elite winger this year, you could make a very good case for Rinaldo being the most improved Flyer. Rinaldo is a primo agitator who I think will pop in the occasional goal and bring energy.

Rosehill? I mean, I guess. Someone has to take Jody Shelley's spot in the press box next year. Not thrilled with the extra year, but it's not debilitating and I bet Homer got him at a lesser AAV in exchange for the extra year.

I haven't had a chance to read if this has be discussed, but what are people's thoughts on why the team is playing better the last two games. What has changed? They have energy and are playing with passion. I know it's two games but they look like a totally different team. Also I like what I'm seeing in Mason so far. His ability to handle the puck really helps. It's been a long time since the Flyers have had a goalie that can play the puck.

I think Montreal played a little too "loosey goosey" and got stomped. When teams play the Flyers like that (the Pens in last year's playoffs come to mind), it plays right into the Flyers' hands.

I thought Mason kinda stole that one last night.

Anyone else really want to see Bob get the vezina? I always liked him, and have been forever pissed off at how they screwed him over after one year here.
