Taller goalie = bigger 5 hole

I don't think Bishop has a particular problem with his 5 hole, but he is pretty damn tall.

Exactly.

The scouting report on him is to shoot 5 hole. I think that was pretty obvious tonight. He has played well I agree but there seems to be a larger percentage of goals going b/w the wickets. There has to be stats somewhere for this...

Yes, shoot five hole, but your comment about the shootout is incorrect. He's been great in shootouts throughout the last few years.

Brewer looked awful in the first.. he improved throughout but I hate when he moves up on the play. he rarely actually starts anything, just burns some time then has to get back.. always get a flashback of the game a few weeks back when joined the rush on the Penalty kill in OT that went the other way and ended it..

Need to clear some cap space in the off season and make room for better D man, Ohlund is done; Brewer can go too. He can't keep up to most players (kanes 1-handed shot last night, Brewer had like 10 steps up on him and still didn't get the puck) and been giving the puck away like crazy this season.

Nobody will ever replace Marty
If we get #1, go with Jones. Anything in that 2-5 range, go with a forward (I'd agree).

- Michael_Stuart

Haha obviously nobody will ever "replace" Marty. Just meant along the lines of an all star scoring winger (hopefully).

Yeah as long as bishop stays in net for Tampa and let's in 2 or more goals each game even when it's not his fault will receive high amounts of criticism from people who don't know much about his style or level of talent he has souly based on the misinformation people receive that Tampa has no goaltending...which is totally unfair to big Ben...I think he's awesome and will be unbeatable with him and linebacker pushing each other and working together to drive one another. I believe that Tampa will be extremely solid in net next season....extremely. I also believe the team will gsin confidence off this and be use to the new system and tear it up next season...stuff will come together I am beyond excited to get started

Has 2 young goalies "pushing each other and working together" ever worked?

In my opinion, yes. Though I suppose it all depends on your definition of 'worked'.

Ben bishop has already worked alone....so has lindback... So yea it would , I'm not sire who ur team is but has yoir goalie had a 45 save shutout this year? Probably not ...you don't need to ask of it has ever worked ...when it worked this season...lindback has great numbers and so does Ben bishop, its the team infront that has screwed them

If you are letting in 3-6 goals a game on average and still have a .920 sv% you are facong a (frank)load of shots

That .920 SV% is based on 20GP, most of which were in Ottawa.

Bishop is learning that it's very different playing for TBL than it is for STL or OTT. Give him time to adjust.

See Reimer and Scrivens in TO, though Reimer's definitely been playing more since mid-March.

I think it always turns into #1 and #2, eventually. I like both of them, but not many teams go out and acquire 2 goalies of the future in the same season. Bishop is 2 years older and will get paid more for the next few years so if he steps up it could go smoothly. I just hope these guys don't both struggle at the same time!

He's got a .916 SV% in Tampa, so the point he made is still valid.

his sv % only dropped like .7 since i last checkedd when he was in ottawa, and that was AFTER his 45 shot shutout in tampa, it still doesnt change the fact that he gets over 35 shots a game in tampa every game
