This is why I'm starting to favor shorter contracts. The more guys you have with something to play for, the better. I really want to see them go with 3 year contracts or less. If someone is looking for more, identify that early, and then trade him, unless they're elite, like Stamkos elite.

I don't think the networks have any intention on Buffalo playing many national broadcasts in the next few years IMO.

We'd have to overpay both quite a bit even to have a chance at landing them... And even still it's prob a long shot at best

I think we see the change in direction from the organization. I think DR and company realize they cannot build this team into a contender through FA for the above reasons. They have tried the last few summers and haven't gotten the players they wanted. They are going primarily with the draft.
