I love how Gringo needs to "prove" he's worthy of playing for this beyond poopty team.

If you're going to continue to set the kid up for failure, just put him in (frank)ing Rochester already. Maybe they'll play him. Maybe.

Is it just me or do we have two AHL teams?

NHL players: 19, 26, 9, 63, 36, 10, 44, 6 (barely, IMO)

AHL: 42, 82, 65, 72, 12, 27, 53, 5

ECHL: 55, 21, 32

56? Do you mean 65? Flynn IMO is an NHL'er, other than that I pretty much agree

You go tell 32 to his face , he is ECHL . Actually his play has been quite acceptable 4th line play . His intimidation factor and sense of humor make him an all star with me !!!

He's definitely here to stay.

I also don't think Foligno is an AHLer either, sure he's had a down year but he's had his moments and he's looked pretty good recently playing centre (though it's only been a couple of games).

Adam I'm on the fence with as well

His play is so far below what should be acceptable for 4th line play its not even funny. He's a goon/enforcer and it stops and ends there. Kaleta is a 4th line player, and he can at least skate, shoot and stick handle the puck.

He burned a year of his EL deal when he played 7 games this year.

The 22 game mark was to not burn a year of RFA status.

Thanks for clearing that up deadhead..
I really do not want to see him play another game this season at the cost of burning an RFA year... That would would just compound the original bad decision to play him after 6 games...

Scott is pretty horrible...
He better not be back here taking up a roster spot
I'd much rather have one of the kids up here
Or even McCormick as the 13th forward instead

I don't know if that's accurate
I've heard that he did lose a year of RFA bc even though he only played 22 games, he was on the roster for 27...
I have seen multiple statements each way,
Not sure which is true though

Scott is one of the few guys that seems to be able to loosen up the locker room. Believe it or not, that's huge. I'd rather the locker room not be spoken of in the same sentence as "grim reaper" as more.

You are correct. Because he was on the roster for 27 games, he burned a year of his RFA status as well. It was originally said he didn't, but Bob MacKenzie corrected himself. He did, in fact, earn a full year toward his UFA status.

I'd keep him around if for no other reason his post game interview antics. Sadly, its often times the most entertaining part of the night.

It's games played from how I reed it in the CBA. Nothing changed in that area of the CBA. The only thing they did was lower the amout of games do to the shortened season.

I actually dont hate him on the roster, as a 13th forward who plays 20 games ideally.

I can't really speak on behind the scenes stuff,
But on the ice I think he's pretty useless

Like I said at the beginning of the season about Scott. If he plays more than 10 games, this team is in trouble.

Because we are going to have cap space, I have no problem paying him $700K to be an enforcer for 15-20 games a year.

If we were up against the cap and an actual contender, he wouldnt be needed

There certainly is something to be said for how a guy affects the room, positively or negatively...
I can't completely discount that
But can't we find a goofball that can actually contribute more than a few minutes of below average play & a handful of fight though?
If Scott's not out there bashing heads, he's pretty useless on the ice... How how many fights did he really whoop a guy this year?
Three maybe?
That's not enough to "intimidate" imo
