I'm really reluctant to believe any ownership group will cut a cheque that big. But if there's an organization that will do it ...it's Philly/Comcast/Snider. Snider was probably very involved in the Bryz signing so it'll be easier to convince himself.

You forget that by removing those three, you have 3 more holes to plug. Booth and Ballard suck, but they're there at least.

So, you've got 15 million bucks to get yourself 3 defensemen, a goalie, and six forwards.

Luongo isn't garbage... he is still a top tier goalie in this league. His cap hit is fantastic.. its the length of the contract that sucks.

So Luongo isn't "crap".. he isn't "overpaid"... the worst part about him you didn't even mention.

a half season of badness over 3 solid seasons on the leafs as one of the best players... i can live with.

its not the bad half season people remember, its what he does after to bring himself up.

perhaps a big goal in the playoffs or game winner before end of season is all that is needed to spark the belarusian bullseye!
