I rarely agree with you, but in this instance I do agree.

is this about trading Kane again? Lol. I think that might be the only controversial thing I say.

I'm going to say it was mid-60's - CCM Tacks were the Cadillac of skates. On the back in white was stamped CCM and below it TACKS. They advertised it as Tackaberry Boots with CCM Prolite Blades. Kangaroo leather uppers. Just beautiful.

In Canada they sold retail for about $99, very expensive. Bauer Supremes were the competion in that price space.

I wanted a pair badly. My told told me to forget it, you stink, don't even know how to skate.

- RickJ

Kangaroo leather was the buzz then and in early 70's even remember it on baseball spikes...like the white ones the Oakland A's made famous.

But in my neighborhood you either had to be really good or really tough to get away with wearing white spikes.

Your point was mental toughness in a team just barely getting in to the playoffs. My point was being on top of the hill and having everyone gunning for you and prevailing. I will take this team over the Kings last season.
- sgt1480

The kings ran through the western conference last year like a steam engine running over stick figures....it is yet to be determined how the hawks will fare this post season based on all of the 1 goal games...it will be tight.

As for one goal games, I put stock in team defense. Certainly has not been stellar goal tending.

True on the Kings but it is all about how things shake out...

The 2-3-4 seeds last year were teams not accustomed to being there.

Once the Canucks and Hawks were out of the way early the door was wide open...It was the most wide open post season that I could remember.

Can go you one better than the story, 6628 --

Still have my original TACKS with Kangaroo leather -- hanging up by the blades in my Dad's basement.

Also have my SuperTACKS, those as well are hanging up in my Dad's basement. Those had the Kangaroo leather inside but was one of the 1st that had the nylon exterior, were quite a bit stiffer than the original TACKS.

Both pairs you had to replace the entire blade assembly, none of this plastic holder with separate blade stuff. And man those were really heavy compared to today's skates. However, there was NOTHING that felt like those original TACKS.

one more thing -- they also picked up quite a bit of weight from the water absorbed, so by the end of a game, they felt like lead weights.

- savvyone-1

You're dead balls on. I used to put shellac on the toe after every practice and game. Gunzo's fire sale, $35.00. They were smoked up a bit but that didn't matter. And they are hanging up on the wall just like yours.

26 SAG is 4th in the league.

18 games have had fewer than 25 SAG.

7 games under 20 SAG.

So it would explain the lower team GAA. You would expect fewer shots would mean less goals.

CC and RE are 7 & 9 in save percentage. What do you think the numbers would be if they were facing 30 shots a night?

Columbus is looking tough. And anaheim has been slipping a little lately. I still dont think Bob can keep it going in the playoffs but who knows. But I can see their team D keeping our forwards quiet like last year against Phoenix

Thats hard to say.....and hard to predict. Crawford is actually fifth in save percentage. I think it's also a fair statement that both ends...goalie and dplay have bailed each other out when needed and the goal tending is close to stellar than it is closer to good....you also have 7 SO.......

Very true...but it was also an 8th seed that was left for dead until they got Carter and they themselves were not accustomed to being there.

Listen, I will ask you to retract the statement that implies I am lying. Only reason CC is 5th is because Crawford starts with a C. Pleasetell me he is a better goalie than Henrik. Oh, there is this unknown foreigner whose name sounds like a Disney movie and may have his name on the Stanley cup...ah, but we forget those things called facts when it suits us. Do you actually know the meaning of stellar? Dryden, Smith, Hall, Roy, and I would say Hasek.

Detroit lost and Columbus is tied with Anaheim late in the 3rd. If the Jackets get 1 point they leap frog the Wings into 8th place.
