Buffalo Sabres goaltender Jhonas Enroth didn't mince words when discussing how things for him have changed for the better since February.
According to Swedish media outlet Hockey Sverige.se, it's no coincidence to Enroth that he has played better since Lindy Ruff was fired:
“Ruff had been here too long. It was about time we brought in a new coach.”
Later in the piece, Enroth was asked about the differences between Ruff and interim coach Ron Rolston:
"Rolston has done great so far, but I have no idea if he will stay next year or how it will be. It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Above all, it is nice to get a different voice in the locker room. Ron Rolston is a bit more personal and actually comes to talk with you. Lindy was a bit more the rough type who screams at practice. You could say that it was a bit "Old School" with Lindy. It's nice not having to walk on your toes all the time.”

well i only saw saturdays game and didn't watch it that closely.. i didn't notice any glaring mistakes, but i also didn't think he was ready to be in the NHL. - SabresFaninIndiana
The times I saw him play for the Sabres, he was nothing but mistakes and timid play. It's easy to see that he's not physically strong enough to compete with NHL level players. I really think they just need to develop him step by step, league by league. Honestly, I don't know if Rolston will even play him the rest of the year. The team is "trying to make the playoffs," and Scott has been (moderately) serviceable, so they'll probably stick with the same lineup.
It pretty much affirms that Lindy had lost the room. It makes me question the mental toughness of Enroth though if someone yelling in practice would affect him to the point of being the difference between him sucking or not.

So is Grigs eligible to play in the AHL next year? I keep hearing mixed things. It was my understanding that at the end of the year he could be sent to Rochester to play in the AHL playoffs. If he gets sent down for that purpose, does that make him eligible to start next season off there?

well you are assuming that the reason he sucked was becuse he was getting yelled at.. what if it was because he got rarely played and the team in front of him sucked monkey testicals

We were talking about the new kid on D not Grigorenko. When it comes to Grigorenko he would be better suited to play in Rochester the rest of the year IMO

No he still has junior eligibility left with him still being 18 (he turns 19 soon). He either has to be here or in the Q i believe

This. I miss the mentality of hockey players being tough guys with the military style training attitude. They're turning into primo nfl/nba players. (Though NFL coaches are still pretty vocal).

That rule makes absolutely no sense. If a kid is not mature enough for the AHL due to being under 20, why the hell would he be exempt to play in the NHL? I think 18 is 18, if you're an adult, you should be able to play in an adult league.

its not about maturity its a deal between the 2 leagues to keep players in the CHL if they arent NHL ready.
otherwise everyone would just go play in the AHL and there would be no CHL
I'm not sure Pommer was saying it to slight the Sabres organization. I'm sure he was just trying to say something positive about his new organization. You have to cut these guys a little bit of slack, they get bombarded with cliche questions over and over again, especially when they go to a new team. Trying to come up with new answers to a myriad of the same old questions has to be difficult at times when these guys constantly have cameras and microphones shoved in their faces.

Might want to look further into that. I read (red) that his JR is now done and co AHL or NHL next season or even now. - cabin
