Dear Mr Bryzgalov,
We wish you well in your future endeavors. Please enjoy this boatload of cash.

Sincerely,

Paul

Dude if bryzgalov gets played out of a job by mason this would be one for the ages

one of the reasons i don't mind if they "ruin' their draft position...seems like a bunch of solid options, even if they slide back a bit

Yup, I'm patiently waiting for the OHL final 4 to begin on Friday. I plan to focus on London vs Plymouth but may get both laptops going to put on Belleville vs Barrie as well.

Mason looks really good, hopefully he keeps gaining more confidence and becomes the goalie that he was a few years ago. If he does, what a steal that would be for us, a young, franchise goalie!

Almost as big a steal as CBJ with Bob?

Would you honestly be shocked by this?

I mean come on, the backup of the guy you traded a year before and is one of the front runners for Vezina this year comes in and outplays the guy you went out and gave a boatload of money to?

I'm hesistent to throw the keys at Mason for next year.

And to be fair, the Flyers had the same amount of jump tonight as they did against MTL.

True. I did / do like Bob and wanted him here, obviously that is in the past now and if Mason lives up to his potential, all will be forgotten about Bob being traded.

it's a bit easier to play well when you're playing loose and w/ nothing to lose.

I don't think anybody is ready to do that just yet, but it is nice to have a goalie who can actually handle the puck.

i look forward to battling him in the same conference/division for years to come

he's going to make Nitty's record against the Thrashers look pedestrian.

I will say one thing for Mason - he knows how to play the puck. After having a carousel of ineptness in that vocation, and getting toasted by Brodeur year after year, it is refreshing to see what a puck-handling goaltender can bring to the defense.

Not only that but mason was like one of the worst goalies in the league the past couple years

Maybe he finds his game now that he's in a place where he has no pressure

People wonder how New Jersey's paper-ugly defense made it to the finals last season. Well aside from playing within their system, Brodeur relieved A LOT of pressure with his puck-handling. It makes it that much harder to sustain a forecheck when the opposing netminder is just flinging the puck out at a second's notice.
