It's Plucking Montreal that's why

stripes did everything they could early to try and keep montreal in it. on top of what has already been discussed, the crosscheck on coots was iffy at best.

This is simply unbelievable....

When leading after two periods since the 2010-11 season, the Rangers are 71-0-3, including a mark of 12-0-0 in the lockout-shortened 2013 season.

Wow.

It's incredible, isn't it? Tortorella knows how to get them to clamp down hard.

"Forward Ruslan Fedotenko also left the game in the second period with an apparent shoulder injury and did not return. He was boarded by Alex Galchenyuk.

With a quick turnaround before Tuesday night's visit by the Rangers, the Flyers will need to make adjustments. Healthy scratch Mike Knuble likely would replace Fedotenko in the lineup. They would probably need to make alternate arrangements on defense, likely an emergency call-up from Adirondack."

The professional hockey writer must have missed all eight of those shifts and 6:07 that Fedotenko skated in the third period.

he was sleeping in the press box apparently...

Is it me, or are the Flyers constantly screwed when playing in Montreal by referees with names like Sam St. Laurent or Renee Francois?

Even in this down season, the Flyers have shown they can score in bunches when other teams give them time and space

This is true and the entire rest of the league has figured this much out going back to last year.

The coach, who will apparently be given time to right the ship going into next year, needs to figure out how to get this collection of players in a position such that they can produce when the other team gives them nothing.

Bill Clement came through with a great line last night.
When Plekanic was doing crazy things to Briere after a faceoff,
I was thinking WTF was that?
Clement answered "crosscheck push-ups"

Habs really lost their composure.
It did resemble the Flyers Pens playoff series last spring.

I hope Huskins is OK.
He has been real steady and was a good pick up for an injury replacement.

Respect for Foster sticking up for his mates.

Thank you Homer for getting Luke Schenn.

Nice to see the true top line coming together for a good game. This year was tough with hartnell getting hurt and Vorack growing into a top line winger. If they can show consitancy throught he reminder of the year it would make me feel better about next year.

I think a lesson to be learned here is we are better off calling up young guys then counting on old vets. Same situation last year when Gus and Burdon were relied upon and help us win. The likes of foster and lilja and to a lesser degree gervis prevent the growth of our youth and typically do not offer a better solution.

I've used Foster as a punch line all season, so yes, it was nice seeing him use his size the right way.

And thanks Toronto for Luke Schenn. He was a beast.

Really impressed with Luke Schenn's play at this point in the year. Each time he's been tasked with more responsibility he seems to have stepped up to the plate and delivered.

the trade has worked on for both teams. I wish JVR well in his career but now that he's not wearing the O&B...i don't care how is career finishes.

It appears both players needs a change of scenery.

As for Montreal, due to their reputation or their history or what not...i feel the Flyers in any scrum or fight will come out on the short end.

in regards to the last few years i'm just exhausted by a team or organization that constantly deals with big time injuries. I know it's part of the game but i've seen other teams rebound from them but the Flyers don't for the most part.

That stupid fighting with a visor rule needs to go and it can take the instigator penalty with it.

I wasn't up to date on the rule...
mandatory visors are coming but when you fight please take off your helmet so if you get knocket the pluck out, your head can bounce off the ice.

Tore Vikingstad is a great name.

With a name like that, he should be a villain in the next Thor movie.

I really missed Rinaldo last night. He would have had a friggin field day with them.

And the refs miffed me. Seriously? Some of their calls were really, really lopsided in Montreal's favor. Lauridson in particular drew their ire. We need him to rein it back in when it's obvious the refs are calling us tight (even if they aren't the other team)... That 4 minutes of power play time when we only had 3 D (cuz Lauri was sitting in the box, Huskins was down and out and Foster was tossed 1st period) had me chewing my fingernails.
A lot of their hits were nasty... Between the Huskins hit, the Fedetenko boarding the repeated crosschecks to Briere. Come on!
The two handed golf swing at Gustafsson at the end had me hot as well. Go get em Foster, hahahaha....

Sadly I think this game is just a bump in the slide though... Once the other team plays with discipline we get lost... I was very glad to see Hartnell get his groove on.

Thank you for reminding me that we have heart. I'll hang onto that feeling tonight...
