Huskins was part of Anaheim’s starting defensive pair with Chris Pronger in 2007 when the Ducks won the Stanley Cup.

It is believed Pronger put in a good word for him with general manager Paul Holmgren in March to get him to Philadelphia, much like Pronger did for Sean O’Donnell back in 2010.

Yes, he just can't be paid an additional salary while his current contract is in place.

I don't know why not. He wouldn't be being paid to coach. But Lavy worked in various roles while still on LTIR. Pronger now is coaching Schenn 1-on-1.

If I'm not mistaken, Derian Hatcher was on the bench during one of the playoff series in 2008 or 2009 when was on LTIR. So, it is possible.
