So you want to intentionally tank? Sounds like a true Devils fan..
You mean Marty i'm going to retire any day now? Who cares. You can't win another cup with your current roster, and he's gonna be gone, then what? Not too many elite UFA goalies out there these days.. maybe you can trade for Luongo?
Colorado is doing what you're about to be doing, except we realized it and didn't go overpay some choke artist Russian to retire 4 years early off his contract in order to 'maybe' get another run out of Marty before he crawls into his motorhome and vanishes to Florida or something.
Good job in the Finals against the Kings, btw. You really showed us how well spent that money was on Kovalchuk.
How many points did he score again? 0?
And i'm pretty sure there are plenty of guys would take Matt Duchene at this point over Kovalchuk. - NorCalAvsFan
i am a fan not the gm so no they dont intentionally tank and i am still trying to wrap my head around kovy being a choke artist how many points did he have through the entire play offs with a injured back |

Not to long ago you said the Oilers wont get rid of Horcs. I guess when you flip flop the way you do, you are going to be right about predictions. |

The same GM who gave us Varly for a 1st.
I would do it again, too. He was the most talented of the 3 there (Holtby, Nuevie, Varly) but was hurt at the time, or just coming off it.
Works for me. |

doesnt matter what u all think gags gets.
we dont want a first.
we want a roster player (size upgrade) or we resign him
resigning smid and them immediately dealing him would be a slap in the face.
we'll prob be losing whitney and no guarantees klefbom is near nhl ready.
we need to add true quality dmen...but not at the expense of current ones. |

clouts, you make so many blogs about so much contradicting sh1t, you're bound to get something right. It's like monkeys on typewriters'll eventually write Shakespeare.
We could all see this coming when MacT got hired as "VP of Hockey Operations". That's not even a real job. |

yes only l.a and nj called about kovy or tried to trade for him.before him became a ufa want to show me some sources of this that only two teams where interested in what a 27 year old with almost 700 points ? you have got to be kidding me and yea the kings just blew us away that entire series but yet only the last game was a blow out - blizzzard
Uhh.. you're right. I guess all those media sources and 'insiders' were all giving us false information for those months leading up to the kovy trade.
We had no idea who was interested or how badly. It came down to 2 teams, and it was really only going to be a team who was stupid enough to lock themselves to him for that long.
Congrats on that. Even Lou was pissed, and you KNOW IT. Not his style, and it's not Devils hockey.
It's funny, though. |

what is funny is that i havent mentioned one thing about the contract so why do you think i am defending his contract ? i am defending kovy and like most ufa's there are about five teams interested and the player lets his agent know wich teams he isnt interested and the list gets shorter and it came down between l.a and nj that doesnt mean another team would not have offered the same had he been ok with going there |

In fairness Cloutier, it's pretty easy to say I told you so when you have a different stance/opinion every blog. When you take both stances on an argument, can you really say you were right? |

Richard, congrats on patting yourself on the back about predicting a hockey executive would lose his job.

no idea why he still has a job. this organization has been far too loyal to the boys club. i think firing tambs was just an appeasement move for the fans. or to maybe take some heat off of him.
he's never been able to build a real winner. i think he actually did a decent job at keeping us competitive pre 04 lockout when we lost every player that finally got to the next level...and this might have given him some years of reprieve after the fact.
but either way, no playoffs next year and he should be out the door |
