As for Gagner, I will say this for the billionth time. We do not need to sacrifice talent for size at center. The wingers should be the big ones. The center is less important. The winger is the one that sits in front of their net.

The goalies are sinking the rankings. None appear to be going in the top 30. Comrie is the third best. Fucale dropped out of the top 30 on the recent ISS rankings and he use to be top 10 so he would be the first one to go. Then tristan jarry from BC appears to be the second favorite. There is no way to predict but odds are all 3 will be there by the time our second round pick comes up. Comrie would be silly unless we got him third round.

As for taking a step back to move forward you sound like lowe in his press conference. His whole "we have only been rebuilding for 3 years." My memory is foggy but I thought our cup run was 6 years ago and then we dumped our defensive core the next year. There is no need to grab more prospects. We can use our picks and get them, that is fine but we can replace our second line with UFA's. Boyes, Ribero, Horton... Someone to replace hemsky. Grab a dman for him to play 3-4 minutes and go hard after Kruegers friend Striet.

We don't have to rebuild we can contend next year. We still have the pieces we did last month when we thought we could make the playoffs. A new GM should make this a stronger team, not a weaker one. We can grab what we need and still keep our picks.

not true at all. blocking shots is a huge part of the game nowadays..for every team.
if a puck doesnt get to the net, it cant go in. it's not an indication of confidence in ur goalie at all.
volchenkov was a shot blocking beast and paid big dollars for that reason to play in in front of brodeur..is this why?

letting the shot 'get through' or the goalie 'taking the shooter' scenario is during an odd man rush. not under normal circumstances at all.
and they dont just flop and stay there.

Do you not watch coaches corner at all. Don did a whole segment on this just a couple weeks ago. You don't screen your goalie. You don't get in the way and deflect pucks. Let the goalie have a clean view. If Don said it, I stand by it.
