I figured it was 3. If we beat the Devils, Caps and Islanders that gives us 57 points. the Jets lose there next game they can't catch us. - Leafsfan9329
Combination of 6 pts won or lost by the jets. |

i think the 1st year they missed they were knocked out on the last day if i am not mistaken.. the islanders got in instead (i think.. its been awhile)
i also realized the other day that i have not seen the leafs in the post season since my last year of college - Dozzer
Getting knocked out of contention on the last day before the post season is the worst.
I bet that made you feel a little old?
We're starting to take the playoffs for granted here in Boston. I hope this team can consistently continue to be good, there were some real dark periods in there when the Bruins were cellar dwellers. Only good thing that came out of it was I got to go to a bunch of the games, because no one cares for the team when they lose |

yup, that is true.... lets hope for a win.. because in the case of a tie points wise the leafs would get in based on the season series no? - Dozzer

Kadri has yet to prove that he is. You can't go just by this years numbers. Also his Corsi numbers indicate that he won't be able to sustain that pace. His Corsi numbers are similar to that of Eberle last year. Check out Eberle's numbers this year? - faceto27
Corsi numbers also state the Leafs suck. |

Ya I know..... but thing about Corsi numbers. They don't take into account the team that has been getting all the bounces going their way.
The Leafs are that team this year. |

Remember that time Raycroft set a record for wins by a Leafs goaltender in a single season? That's why. |

Because of last year. This team is too tough to fold like last year. They may not win a round, but it will still be good experience for the team. Hell, a lot of the players already have some level of playoff experience from the Marlies run last year. That can't really be underestimated. |

Bergeron's probably only going to miss one more game chief
And I think Soderberg will help that third line produce more offense. |

Its a bit of a stretch, but it is very conceivable that the Leafs win the division. They still have one more game with the Habs. Plus they have a soft schedule the rest of the way.
There is hope. |

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I'd take Boston in the first round.
I'm not saying this because I think they're the easiest opponent, but because there would be so little pressure on us to win. If we draw Boston, people will write us off before first puck is even dropped.
If we're going to go into things as an underdog, let's truly play the role. besides, on the off chance we beat them, it does the most good for us moving forward. |

I don't know that winning the division puts them in that much of a better spot. They don't really play any better at home then on the road (granted the playoff atmosphere might be a little different. And in the 2 hole you may end up facing the Rangers and Lundqvist |
