He's a (frank)ing meathead.
I hope they throw the book at him and he never wears a habs jersey again. He is the type of player that has no business in the NHL running around and head-hunting.

(frank) him.

Idiot of the game for me had to be plekanec. He landed a good 18-20 solid cross checks on that faceoff. Pretty sure that's an assault in a bar fight..

First time I was hoping to see hartnell dummy someone.

I think there are a number of Leafs who are so tantalizingly close to being considered for the major awards, but they'll likely all barely miss out.

If Reimer hadn't been injured, he'd be in the hunt without a doubt.

If Phaneuf hadn't started slowly (while carrying some AHL baggage), he'd be in the hunt for the Norris. As it satnds, he's probably 7th or 8th.

If not for the fact that two other NE Division coaches have their teams playing way above their heads, Carlyle would be looking at the Jack Adams.

And if Kadri had fewer games played, he'd be Calder eligible. That one kind of stings.

Very true, although not overly important... the fact that they are all in the conversation or should be atleast mentioned is great and a testament to the kind of all around game the leafs are playing.

Coach of the year to me goes hands down to MacLean. Missing spezzas 80 points from last year, Karlsson's 78 pts along with Anderson and others for a good part of the season.

I'm assuming the score was already ran up at that point?

Still, I agree, even if your pissed off from losing, you dont do poop like that.

Something Cooke would do... he needs to go also.

However, all for naught if they don't make the playoffs. And they're dangerously close to missing them now.

Brière is no saint either.

Let's say he loves to lift his stick in the guys balls that's taking the faceoff in front of him...

For sure, briere has a history. I remember a beauty spear back in the day from him.

But there are ways to handle it, and I'm fairly certain trying to mash his potatoes by way of cross check isn't one of them, and doesn't bode well for a reputation any different than briere's.

There's a reason players like briere, and the habs in general, have the reputations they do.

While I would be ecstatic for the outcome to come to fruition...

It most likely won't happen.

Washington is on fire, and the jets play Tampa.

I wouldn't be suprised if we squeezed out a win in Washington, but I imagine the jets win.

I bet we clinch on Saturday.

Not sure how you can still feel there is a chance they miss the playoffs at this point...

I am a lot more confident now than, say, about 2 weeks ago.

I just can't see them clinching so easily and so quick.

They'll clinch alright, but it may take just a little while longer... maybe 3 games I think.

Well tonight's game should be interesting as 2 hot teams are going to play and we will see which team is for real. For Winnipeg, they get to face a struggling Tampa, hopefully bishop stands on his head

Let's say we win tonight and Winnipeg does also.

That puts us at the magic of 2 then right?

So we would just wait for either a win from us or a loss from them which is inevitable, no?

I think they probably will too. But they’re just barely hanging on. Winnipeg has 6 games left, and their next 4 are against some pretty bad teams. Ottawa has Boston, Washington x 2, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Philly, and Carolina. Now take a quick look at the Isles and Rangers schedules to close out the year. You’ll get a bit of a chuckle. It’s going to come down to the wire for them, and is by no means a lock. It’s very possible they miss the playoffs.

I think the leafs have to lose every remaining game, to have less than a 10% chance of missing the playoffs.

I still refuse to have any positive emotion about it until they clinch..

I would love it for the last game of the season was for the division title! with the loser having to play Boston in the first round. 4 points down, Price letting in beach balls! and they play Pittsburgh!
