You do realize making up things only makes you look like a like the fool right?
I wasn't trashing Reimer, in fact I was on here last night complimented him, he played great.
I was shaking my head at the comment bolded.....way too many uncontrollable perimeters to even be loosely classified as a "fun fact".

You need to look up the definition of "trashing".

then you need to stop just highlighting a part of a persons post and just saying oh boy.. its rude and disrespectful

and well.. since we're being honest here.. either you stop doing that kind of BS or you wont be around here for the playoffs

he has to prove consistency still.. i can admit that... but as the pressure mounts he stays calm.. thats a huge thing... he doesnt lose his focus.. in fact.. he seems to play better as the gmaes have more on the line

I am of the belief, that the true villain here is Francois Allaire.

When Reimer came up his first year, Allaire didn't have time to mess with his natural style. Reimer flourished.

Last year, Allaire tried to convert him into a blocking goalie, which as we know now, was not a good result.

Fast forward to this year, and Allaire removed (thank you Randy Carlyle). And Reimer was allowed to go back to his more natural style. Relying on his athleticism.

He loses focus when there's less pressure.

He'll shut down the opposition when the team infront of him is playing like poop, but he'll let in weak ones when the team doesn't need him to keep them in.

Potvin!

thats a young man's issue. that will come in time.

its a very good possibility.. st croix tends to try to build the position style around the goalie, unlike allaire, who tries to mold the goalie to his style

Curious of everyone's thoughts on Gardiner last night...

I know it's kind of stating the obvious but in the offensive zone and on the rush he seems to play with so much confidence but in our own end there were multiple head scratchers... No look passes to no one, terrible attempts to get the puck out.. seemed to me like nervous mistakes.

Leafs finish off season at 4-2 and the Habs finish off at 2-4 with Leafs winning the final game.

Leafs open up at home against the midgets!!

- faceto27

the beauty of playing the Habs in the playoffs is two-fold.
1) the Habs - because of their record this year, and them likely having home ice advantage will make them favourites.
2) the Hab media coverage will go into hyper-spin... there will be heads coming off in Montreal.. which will do nothing but heighten the pressure on the Habs players and put a good level of focus on the officiating.

I'm just guessing, but I would expect to see Carey Price start his next game with his old pads.

It was to be expected that the habs would slump at some poit. There's no way they could have stayed on pace for a 120pts season.

Still sucks to watch them crash and burn at this point in the season.

Its no secret, that Gards needs alot of work down in the defensive zone.

On that note......... I am going to say it.

Phaneuf has been a total beast the past month or so. True number one defenseman.

I wonder if there wouldn't be Norris talk surrounding him if he wasn't saddled with Holzer/Kotska for most of the season.

The most over rated player in the league does not get nominated for Norris awards.

yup.

he's thinking too much right now... "what should be doing right now", and for instinctive players that tiny delay or uncertainty causes problems...

it doesn't seem to be in his nature to make that 15 foot pass, he's always looking for the long bomb or to skate it out of trouble as a first instinct, which doesn't jive with the Carlyle break-out.

another difference this year is that he doesn't have Wilson around to blame his screw-ups on Luke Schenn.

A very slippery fellow. We never could depend on him for any combined operations. In short, to say the truth, I never knew either in Portugal or Spain any general or any statesmen who showed great personal practical talent except Forjas

Well, statistically, Reimer has been a better goalie than Schneider this year. More games, same sv%. And if you ask Canucks fans, he's done it behind a far worse team.... Although, that's debateable these days. So, if you're going to laugh at Reimer being mentioned (and ironically, he only said "how far off could he be"), that only makes you an even bigger idiot than whoever was saying yesterday. I'm not saying he deserves it, but he's in line in front of Schneider, that's unquestionable.
- Dirte

No, I wouldn't say Reimer is in front of Schneider, but he is certainly comparable at this point.

what makes this SO entertaining, is the Canuckleheads still can't or won't see the forest for the trees.

the CAP situation for the Canucks is an absolute mess, at exactly the time when the team's performance seems to be on the decline. The Canuckleheads seem to believe the team will gain untold riches in return for Luongo even still, after all the trade deadline baloney that took place.

one thing is for sure, Gillis will either be very uncomfortable asking Canuck ownership for $40M to buyout two players OR Gillis will be very uncomfortable looking for employment elsewhere. Gillis' only chance to survive being fired is if he his somehow able to find a team willing to take on those contracts - and he will likely have to pay those teams to do so - picks and prospects.

- BorjeFan4Ever

They think gillis has done wonders for their cap. That's all you need to know.

Ballsy statement... not because I disagree with it but because of how much hate Dion gets... the guy has been a workhorse on a pretty defensively sound team playing with no namers for a good part of the season and gets absolutely no credit.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 6m

Marlies have signed Josh Leivo to a tryout contract. He joins the team tonight. Leafs third rounder in 2011 had very good OHL season.

This will make Lu very happy

9 shut outs in 94 games OMG!!!

He almost has as good of a SP as Luongo but with 600 less games played.

If only Reimer and the Leafs had the benefit of playing in the EASILY the weakest division in the league like the Vancooter Caaksucks.

How long has Van been raping that division now? It's looking like three teams, YES 1, 2, 3 TEAMS will be picking in the top 5 this year, AGAIN!... SURPRISE!!!

Excellent point!

I wonder what the Nucks record is outside of their division.

And yet everyone still craps on Kessel including Simmons.
It was only about 13 games ago that people on here were coming up with Kessel trade options.

Again, if Kessel can be had for 6 - 6.5 sign him long term

- Fakepartofme

Yeah but look at his comparables in terms of point production the last couple years. He has also proven this year that he can do it without Lupul and still with no #1 centerman.

There aren't a lot of solid 2-way players who bring much more to the table than Kessel. i.e., they are all pretty 1-dimensional.

So, if they decide to try to keep him, I worry that the price is more like 7.5 or 8 even.

This I worry too.

At this point, I would be very happy to sign him for a max of 7 million per season.
