You guys shutout the most offensively challenged team in the league.. GEE GOLLY MISTER.. I sure hope you sign Reimer to a big extension.

You guys sound like you are ready to give him the congressional medal of honor, the purple heart and the key to the city. Tuck your boner in your waist band and take a deep breath.

Oh this is fcuking beautiful coming from a Vancouver fan... the only team with 3 of the top 5 goalies in the league and 2 Vezina candidates.

It isn't about the Leafs winning a game they shouldn't have. It is all about Luongo. Kneughter is butt hurt because the idiots on the left coast still think Toronto is lining up with 3 other teams to start a Luongo bidding war this summer. Games like last night really impinge upon their delusions.

Oh no, not at all.

They were dead last in the East last season... Where they are right now is already an accomplishment.

I think its safe to say that the three biggest surprises this season would have to be the Habs, Leafs and CBJ

It was to be expected that the habs would slump at some poit. There's no way they could have stayed on pace for a 120pts season.

Still sucks to watch them crash and burn at this point in the season.

As per Steve Simmons, the only players with more points than Kessel the last 2 seasons are Malkin, Stamkos, Giroux, and St Louis.

Thats pretty impressive.

Absolutely, you could probly get a draft pick for him that you could hope turns out to be a 50 or 60 point guy

I wish Burkie was still here, he would be having a field day with the media, with the team playing this good.

And other fans were calling me an idiot for suggesting Cory Schneider for Vezina... Wow
- kneughter

Well, statistically, Reimer has been a better goalie than Schneider this year. More games, same sv%. And if you ask Canucks fans, he's done it behind a far worse team.... Although, that's debateable these days. So, if you're going to laugh at Reimer being mentioned (and ironically, he only said "how far off could he be"), that only makes you an even bigger idiot than whoever was saying yesterday. I'm not saying he deserves it, but he's in line in front of Schneider, that's unquestionable.

Those contracts were becoming popular around that time... there was half a dozen or so within that year with the same ridiculously long contract.

I've said it numerous times... Gillis would have just as tough of a time trying to deal Lu with him having 4-5 years left with a 7-7.5 million dollar cap hit than his 9 years left at 5.3. It makes almost no difference.. at least this way.. a team willing to take the gamble will be very content with the cap hit.

Cap going down... all star caliber goalie with a 5.3 million cap hit is looking pretty good right about now. Especially if Jimmy Howard is signing with that same cap hit. And you got guys like cam ward and miller making much more.

He's been thrust into the #1 spot and I think it will go a long way in helping him become a solid #2 or 3 shutdown dman with a little offensive upside...
