Yes, the timing makes you wonder. If you are a bomber and you want to make the biggest impact you would time it at about the time the first racers are crossing the line.

If you look at the film, the clock is at the 4:09 mark - that's incredibly late for the Boston Marathon.

To qualify, you have to meet a certain standard in a previous marathon (known as BQing). So using that as a guideline, you'd only be getting men over the age of 60 or so and women over the age of 50 or older.

Basically, if it was terrorists, these terrorists are stupid.

And cowards, of course.

Yeah I know, but a lot of people go to see their friends who aren't professional runners and are therefore with the pack. If you're supporting someone you aren't going to leave when the professionals pass the finish line.
