Its happened too many times in the last two weeks to feel sorry about it. The Devils play just good enough to eke out a loss.

The first two games of the skid, the opposition scored with less than a minute left and went on to win. Teams that were outplayed by the Devils. Yet the Devils can't replicate those types of performances.

Something's broken. Really, really broken.

- ElvisLemieux

Last place in scoring in the whole of the NHL is what is broken.
Great forechecking without a finisher (or more then one when Kovi is healthy) is a massive issue and what needs to be fixed.

Touche, I think if they just flat out sucked and lost okay we suck. But when we out play teams, and out shoot and just dont score it hurts. Its hurts to lose when there is a decent effort. The topic of panic should be goal tending I think...

Brodeur let in 1 goal tonight. on a shot from a sniper. ???

Not specifically tonight over this stretch of losing, when is the last time this season one of our goalies stole a game for us, or has been clutch this year?

point made. but he's been good enough to win. we've gotten used to him stealing games. he shouldn't have to do it every night : /

brodeur's too old to be an elite goalie anymore. i know it looks like im trolling but im not. he still shows flashes of brilliance and his young self but for him to keep it up consistently just isn't possible.

yup losing parise hurts a lot more than any of the fans are (or were) willing to admit. he was a legitimate 40 goal scorer on top of all of his intangibles.

(frank) we dont have a 1st next year (assuming we keep it this year) so when brodeur goes 0-60 or however many games he plays we will get screwed out of the #1 pick and brodeur will still be stuck on 666

anyone else get the feeling that lou is waiting to do this draft and part of next season and then quit and let the next sucker worry about giving up a 1st and rebuilding?

No Lou has been around too long and has too much respect to just poop on a team he's run for 20 years because he doesn't feel like it anymore. I'm honestly not to worried about this team, if anything it works out that we may get such a high draft pick for a team that legitimately isn't bad, just has had an off year. Think the Flyers getting JVR in 2007, or hell even the Bruins getting Seguin in 2010 (I know that was a different scenario, but you catch my drift).

Marty has been good. Hard to blame him for any of the goals, and the team really struggled when he was out.

I guess I'll say in the past stretch sort of what a lot of people have been saying about Bryzgalov this season (not to compare Marty to Bryz...but whatever)

He hasn't been the problem.

But he also hasn't been the solution.

He definitely hasn't been bad, but he definitely could be better.

well we cant expect too much from someone who is at the end of a very long and successful career, he has stopped pretty much all he has supposed to, he just isnt stopping as many shots that you are like wow how the hell did he do that

also doesnt help when we score 96 goals which is fewest in the league

sooo we gota win out.. and Rags gotta go.. 2-5, or 1-5-1, or 1-4-2, or 1-3-3..
SO, if we beat the Rangers in regulation, they'll have to just go 1-1-3! It's doable ..

it is impossible to win in regulation without scoring so if we where to win it would be 1-0 in a shootout and that wouldnt help us lol

Yeah i'm not ready yet.

I don't expect Kovy back this year, may as well keep him out and let him fully heal.

He could be. I remember earlier this year he got really banged up (on of the games against WSH he hurt his wrist) and could be part of the problem.
