if the Devils had any brains we'd be up at least 2 by now..
we could play the whole game 5-4 and still lose 1-0.
.. Clarkson ruins nearly EVERYTHING. dare i say he's an overpaid Janssen at this point... except less effective because at least Janssen was a wrecking ball. |

How do you go from most guts to least guts in a single season? This is pathetic.
Side note: I can't believe Steve Sullivan didn't solve the scoring problems! |

i could give you a name that we had when we had guts leading our team.. just so happens we don't have that name anymore.. and our guts is not what it was. Parise was a special player. Not just because of the production.. but because of the combination of production and heart. He backchecked harder than anyone, not only that.. but when he did, he'd make something productive happen. He forechecked harder than anyone, and the same thing.. had his head up, made a difference. He was the drive and heart of this team. He's in the special class with Crosby, Toews etc. He's special. Kovy is like Malkin, Parise is like Crosby. Which would you rather build your team around? those special players don't grow on trees.. he IS the difference. |

This is insane.
I don't normally believe in superstitions...but man maybe this 666 thing is legitimate.
I've never seen a team lose 10 straight by outplaying their opponent 85% of the time. |

Agree to disagree. Of course Parise is a special player, but Kovy has flat-out put this team on this back for long stretches. Led the league in GWGs with the Devils. Played through a herniated disc through the playoffs. Praise Parise, that's fine, but I don't think its fair to drag Kovy's name through the mud while you do it.
Nothing against Toronto. They are a very balanced, hard working team that deserves to make the playoffs, but even a C+ team worth their mettle has to man up when their backs are against the wall. Which its been continually for the last two weeks.
Good teams find ways to win. Pretty or ugly. This team just isn't good right now. |

Parise worked his tail off to make half of Kovy's points possible. When he had the herniated disc he was largely ineffective.. like i said. Crosby vs. Malkin. Malkin's no scrub. Love Kovy. Wouldn't want our team without him. also wouldn't want it without Parise. in addition to all of our other strengths, having both of them on the same team was a big reason we pushed as far as we did last year. |

I agree completely. I'll probably cheer for the Wild in the playoffs just b/c he is still my favourite player. |

You make it sound like the Devils had the either/or choice, which wasn't the case. Parise was leaving no matter the money. |

What if we never traded for Kovy, and Parise walked anyways. Every game would be like this stretch we are going through |

then we'd be doubly doomed... instead of just doomed. simple mathematics. |

From a Leaf fan - Leafs had no business winning that game.
Reimer is the only reason Leafs pulled that one out a hat.

Touche, I think if they just flat out sucked and lost okay we suck. But when we out play teams, and out shoot and just dont score it hurts. Its hurts to lose when there is a decent effort. The topic of panic should be goal tending I think... |

(Insert opposition team name) had no business winning that game. - Cooshie
Its happened too many times in the last two weeks to feel sorry about it. The Devils play just good enough to eke out a loss.
The first two games of the skid, the opposition scored with less than a minute left and went on to win. Teams that were outplayed by the Devils. Yet the Devils can't replicate those types of performances.
Something's broken. Really, really broken. |
