Really, then why has the team with "no pressure" done both of those things?
- Whiskey-Tango

Nonis and Carlyle fired? Have to admit that I didn't see that coming.

Hey dude.

I think the Leafs and Nucks could both go for long runs.

the leafs will be dangerous if they use there speed, and forechecking effectively, especially Komarov, if they can score on there opportunities, and there PP and PK do as they have been this year, proper coaching could be a major difference for the leafs... as for the nucks, if there forward help out the blue line, and you guys get solid goaltending, you have enough offense going to win the close battles.... should be a good playoff.

I suppose having a selective memory is an essential part of being a Leaf fan.

IMO pretty much any team that gets in could at least win a couple of rounds. As much as everyone wants to say that the best team always wins the cup, there are other factors that depend on luck and good fortune. It's the teams with hot goalies and riding high shooting %'s that go far, plus staying healthy is huge(and that includes the players that are playing hurt). You also need a couple of lucky bounces along the way.

By selective, you mean only remembering things that really happened?

You guys look like a lock for 3rd but could play any one of 6 or maybe even 7 teams. Weird standings.

As far as the east goes, Boston is having a hard time scoring, and lost back to back to Carolina I believe... if they can't get there scoring back, they may not be around long in the playoffs, won't win many games in the modern NHL with 0, 1 or 2 goals.... as for the pens, Morrow looks like he is gelling but Murray and Iginla not so much, wouldn't shock me if the pens don't last long either.

Agreed, hoping we match up against SJ in the first. Doubt we could steal a series from St-Louis

Yeah, the west is pretty crazy right now. And I low how teams like Dallas and Columbus are in the mix for 8th and when the Canucks were first we got (frank)ing Chicago and LA.

According to Sports Club Stats, the most likely opponents are MIN/SJ/STL. I'd like either Minny or SJ, but STL really scares me. Similar to LA last year. I know that everyone likes Minny, but that would be the team I'd probably prefer the most when I look at 5 on 5 shot differential per game.

I had STL and LA in my WCF too . I still like STL the best outside of the top teams. Right now I'd probably go CHI-LA if I had to pick. The Rangers and Blues are still scary teams even though they've had disappointing seasons. Those were actually the two teams I had in my SCF with the Rangers winning before the season started. Pitt is the team to beat if healthy, no doubt.

I see the Leafs fans flooded the poll

You're most likely playing the Bruins and I would be shocked if it goes 6 games

- fudd1689

I say its lucky to go 5 games. I'd be surprised if Boston won even one game.

At this point you should just be happy the Leafs are actually IN the playoffs.
- woopstash

Why? They're one of the 8 best teams in the east, they deserve to be there.
