Disagree

I still don't think he should have received a penalty

Ticky tack bs just like Dustin Johnson at PGA

- homiedclown

Golf has dumb rules but they are the rules in place.

Submitting the incorrect scorecard was on the PGA not Tiger. They deemed the drop legal before he submitted it, then reviewed it after.
- Cheeseballin

Well I'll have to defer to the half dozen pro golfers who said he should have been disqualified over you, no offense.

And I'll defer to the half dozen pro golfers, that are still playing in the tournament, who agree that the ruling was fair and Tiger shouldnt have been disqualified.

If it happened to Stuart cink instead of tiger then there is no penalty

If it happened in 1993 instead of 2013
Nothing happens

There was no intent to cheat

Ball rested what 6 inches behind the original spot

I know it was on a steep slope

It's all bs IMO

Bullpoop. Have you ever seen golf ratings when Tiger Woods isn't in a tournament? Let's be real here. They don't want him out of the tournament.

Tiger said he dropped the ball two feet behind where he was supposed to on purpose. To me that means he knew the rule and ignored it. You and others may interpret it differently, which is fine.

Should a player who only played well for half a season win the MVP? Ovechkin is on a ridiculous tear.
- Pierceme69

The Hart trophy is not for "the player that scored the most points" or "the best player during that NHL season". The Hart trophy is for "player judged most valuable to his team".

Ovechkin, Bobrovsky, Tavares would be my 1-2-3 vote. Without those players, those teams arent where they are in the standings.

If the Jackets make the playoffs a legit argument could be made for Bob, for sure.

Somehow in my fantasy playoffs when I need them the most, my team is a -18 this week.

If the ground slopes downward toward the hole and you can't be closer, because then you would be cheating, where do you drop it?

I understand it this way, but I dont think Tiger thought this was violating the rules. We're arguing about 2 feet drop behind the original spot...

Why was a viewer allowed to call into the committee to complain about it? Why was it not even going to be a penalty until they listened to what Tiger said? Meaning that without Tigers thought process, they wouldnt even consider it a penalty.

I don't know. Golf rules are so dumb. I'm just saying everyone should receive the same penalties. Apparently many pros fall on both sides of the fence on the issue. I admit I'm biased because I was a big Jack Nicklaus fan when I was young.

Jack is my all time favorite

I am sure jack agrees tiger should not have dropped the ball in his own divot

Hell when jack came on tour Gary player was kicking his ball forward in the rough to advance it

But that is not well known 45 years later

Exciting game alert. Islanders vs Rangers has been end to end, intense action. 0-0 after 2 periods. Lundquist has been standing on his head.

Before we got curb stomped by Winnipeg and Montreal this game would have really mattered.

Tiger has played more golf than Obama and he knew what he did was against the rules. He knew how to drop a golf ball when he was 8.

Thats what you think. I say Tiger has played enough golf that he thought what he did was fair, and thats why he did what he did.

If the rule wanted you to hit it exactly from the same spot in the previous divot, you wouldnt have to drop the ball, but rather be forced to place the ball.

Why all the fuss about golf for crissakes? There's still a few rounds of hockey playoffs, or does nobody care about the lockout-tainted Cup this year?
