I wouldn't mind Oliver filling the 6th d-man role next year. Also, read MAB is slowly making his way back. Hopefully, he will be ready to go by training camp.

Ollie has potential, but he could use another year getting top 4 minutes with Phantoms. His game is still very rough around the edges.

i thought that might be your answer, but i don't see the correlation.

I dont know something about swinging, or a similar motion?

I've never golfed really. Too boring, and my last 2 times I managed to hit a buddy in the knee with the ball, and when I was young in a summer camp I ended up hitting a kid in the head with a wedge. He ran up and bent down to pick up his ball just as I was coming down to hit.

He could do better but you can't expect to happen when he's on the 4th line. He not being used as he should by the coaching staff & that's a BIG problem.
- ob18

When he moves up I see him losing battles against the other teams better players Along the wall. Getting the puck taken from him in the middle of the ice. It's not exactly good when he moves up

Some of it has to do with linemates but it's mostly him

this might be the most boring game ever.

I'm actually hoping for the typical Flyers backcheck so we can at least see some action

@tpanotchCSN: PP in last five was 0-for-13. 0-for-1 today. that makes it 0 for 14 run ...

Nothing gets by Timmy.

Your assumption that Bryzgalov is not a distraction, that Hartnell will rebound, Grossman will return with no issues, Brayden Schenn will develop into a threatening 2nd line center, McGinn, etc etc.

All technically also all a guess no?

Its a message board, we've got opinions. If you think McGinn will be better than Cousins and a solid 3rd line winger in the NHL. By all means run with it.

- flyer_nutter

The difference is, that I've seen those players play. And I've made different statements then you have. Such as think McGinn has a chance to be a good pro. And that B Schenn is still young and developing. I haven't made blanket final statements that you have, without any context behind them. Such as you think Cousins will be a better pro then McGinn. When you admitted that you haven't seen Cousins play much.
As far as Bryzgalov is concerned. I don't deal in the tabloid nonsense that is written, without substantial proof being offered. You apparently do.
As far as Grossmann is concerned, returning without any issues. That is hopeful optimism. That's how I prefer to approach those situations. I have not seen any Medical prognosis on Grossmann. I have never stated that Grossmann will return without any issues. Only that I believe it is possible, and I'm hopeful that he can fully recover.

Assuming that Homer doesn't add any defense next year, who are your top 6? I think Laurisden is really making a name for himself, but players like Schenn and Grossmann make him a commodity of sorts. Not that Laurisden is a great trade chip, but I'd love to see him out there fore 82 game, growing through the young D pains. It would likely be a few years of growing pains, but still would love to see him. Assuming no trades are made:

Timonen
Grossmann
Schenn
Coburn
Meszaros
Laurisden/Gustafson/Gervais?

I think the consensus is that the FA market is dry and people seem to get their panties in a bunch when talking about trading our young chips (Coots, Schenn, Read, etc.).

Either way, the conversation was started with an assumption, not an absolute.

I think a lot of people are ok with trading a young forward as long as its a fair deal.

Homer will not run with this D for another year.

Possibly, but I'm not sure he can't learn from being protected on the third pairing and gradually adding more responsibilty throughout the year. I like his combination of size and mobility.
