Its not the numbers. They make great saves and then dub does something silly. Not all goalies do this. All goalies probably have done this at some point in their career but duby lets in some REALLY weak goals and then saves amazing ones. Its the consistency that has me worried. That is why I like habby. His experience. He seems more poised in net and during a shoot out I feel positive we are going to win.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am just happy his posts have gotten shorter as the day has gone on.

How can he be at best a 70 point guy when he's already topped that number?

He usually goes away after Iggysbf shows up. Might as well he's not going to defend his BS anyway, he's just gonna say that we should all listen to him because he is a professional hockey blogger, has inside info, knows a GM personally, is friends with Shaun Horcoff and basically watches hockey 24/7 and knows way more than the rest of us so we should take his opinion as FACT. No thanks, I would rather hear stories about poop, dirty women or how I should take it the arse with an Oscar Meyer if I can't get any realistic hockey talk here.

so true. all of a sudden ebs is a 70 pt guy at best? wtf? this guy was our best player last year without question. but hes struggled abit this year, so hes mediocre now...

i think hall has the more dynamic, game changing style, but ebs is a pure sniper and is so dangerous with the puck. scores goals than only a few guys in the world could.
im not sure one is more important than the other really. stoked to have em both.

if and when we have both of these guys at the top of their games for prolonged periods...our team will be in another echelon

And that's just it, Dubnyk actually has very few mechanical flaws in his game. His issues are mental issues. Which means he has more potential to carry the team over stretches than a lot of the up and coming goalies. Scrivens for example is less of a head case but has TERRIBLE rebound control. Braden Holtby is also a cool cucumber but doesn't have as good mobility in the crease.

Dubby's cross to bear is his consistency for sure, but with the right team in front of him, he's as capable as any young goalie right now to have those dominant performances that Ol' Lou is (was) capable of.

Holy smokes! Maybe saying Eberle was a 70 point guy at best was the wrong thing to say, I just don't think he will be neck and neck with Hall throughout their careers.I like them both as players and hope they stick around together for a long time. All I was saying is that IF the time comes where the Oilers need to move one of Hall,Ebs,Schultz,Nuge or Yak to get a couple of pieces for a serious push, I think Ebs might be the guy who goes. I know, the prospect sucks, but great players get traded all the time.
