You don't think it's a bad loss? I know according to Habs fans that these games don't mean much because the Leafs are "irrelevant". But it was a national game and Canada's team put up a stinker. I kinda think falling back on the Habs lost this game more than the Leafs won is a cop out. - weirdoh
1) National game? C'mon. Both these teams get all of their games televised. They don't care about that crap. Or at least not enough for it to make a difference in performance.
2) Habs ended up outshooting the Leafs. I didn't watch the game so I can't make a real comment, but statistically speaking, the idea of Habs losing more than Toronto winning does stand. Not saying it's right, just saying that if the shoe was on the other foot, we'd hear about it just because the stats say so.
3) Habs putting up a stinker here is NOT something to worry about. It happens to all teams. What is alarming for the Habs is that it seems to me like they've come out with more consistent crap efforts for the last little while and that is more worrisome than the one game where they happen to be facing the center of the universe.

You should be worried, if we face you in the first round
Maybe it wasn't the best time for Price to put on all new equipment before the game. - ShafterBenRaide
It's the first game after clinching their spot in the post season and he probably wants to get as many games as possible with those pads, that part makes sense. He probably should have considered that they're playing a likely first round opponent though and saved those pads for the next game.

Why?
We have a better goaltender than the Leafs does (when he shows up).
We have a more complete forward line-up than the Leafs do.
You have a better D corps, especially with Emelin gone.
I know you guys are new to the idea of playing someone in the playoffs, but we here are used to playing past April for about 6 or 7 games. If there's anything we've learned from playing Boston through the better part of the last decade, it's that regular season means very little come playoff time.

I dunno about that. Reimer and Price have almost identical Sv% (reims being slightly better, with Price having the better GAA as you give up less shots against). Price definitely is better, but I've seen very few games where Reimer poops the bed so hard that he gets pulled after 10 minutes. It's also not like Reimer is at his peak, as he is actually slightly younger than Price.
You have the better D, but they're also slightly older and more experienced on average.
Our forwards have managed the same number of goals over the same number of games. Seems pretty comparable to me.
As you say, this all means bugger all come playoff time, but despite the points gap, I don't think there's too much between the teams.

You didn't watch the game but you can comment on it. Interesting.
Any stats on the line that had to play McClement's line? - weirdoh
Mccelement played on the 4th I believe. But I know what you mean. Eller's line was the Habs' best last night, playing against Grabovski, Komarov and Macarthur.
I was thinking about that one while at the cabane à sucre. Thought Grabovski would be out.

Smeller got his ass laid out three times He was balls.
Leafs scored 4 goals on 2 scoring chances in the firs period. That resumes the game. - QuebecPride
Price killed any chance the Habs had to win that game. I turned the tv off after the fourth Leafs goal, no chance I was going to watch the rest of that stinker.
At that point, I was just hoping that it wouldn't turn into a poopshow and that the habs wouldn't lose any players to dumb injuries.

Prust had his shoulder banged up again I believe, but he was back in the 3rd.
