It isn't but some seem to think so.. - AGalchenyuk27
i think you're both misunderstanding his point (as shocking and unbelievable as that is). the point is not the regular season means nothing. it's that regular season results do not carry over into the playoffs. for example, say one team dominates another (like the Leafs with the Habs this year), it does not mean that a playoff meeting would automatically be a continuation of said dominance. the playoffs are a brand new season and everyone starts from scratch. |

he's actually 106% correct. what you're saying makes no sense.

Once the playoffs start the regular season is meaningless. Kings won the cup as an 8th seed. Please explain to me what doesn't make sense? |

Yup.
Kadri was lighting up the AHL and needed a chance with the Leafs, that Wilson wouldn't give him. Even with limited time and poopty linemates, he put up decent numbers in his stints with the Leafs. |

ok so what you're saying is that becasue something happened last year that had never happened before you don't think there's a difference at all between the team that makes it in as no. 1 and the team that makes it in as no. 8? |

Can you honestly sit there and tell me that if Price gets a shutout every game for the remainder if the season, he doesn't get a vezina nod???

Of course there is...but what i said is that in the Eastern conference today there are no clear cut favorites in the first round except the Pens with Crosby. |

guys,
there are indeed cases where a team dominated the other during the regular season but lost a playoff series to them.
there are also a lot of cases where a team dominated the other during the regular season and won a playoff series against them.
I think it's fair to say a playoff series between the Canadiens and Leafs this year is not exactly the Red- Wings - Avalanche matchups of the 90's and could pretty much go either way.
