If he made 1.5 mil.....I would say keep him around - southernhawk
Once he's bought out I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a 1 year $1 million type of contract. |

And I contend there are no shooting lanes because Keith doesn't create them like he used to. In the past he used to switch off with his partner to have his stick on the strong side of the point. In the past he was more active skating the line opening lanes, passing and shooting. In the past he would move from the point to the high slot looking for a pass, Like we see Seabrook do from time to time. But we don't see this anymore ... well actually the last game I saw him beginning to do these things again. Let's see if it was an anomoly or if this is something he starts to do again. - paulr
Might be some of the reason...I have only seen Seabrook do it and it looked like a nice plan but doesn't happen often.
I would like to see Leddy get a chance for more PP time...He gets shots through and can pass. |

Keith is not the greatest in the league on the point on the PP (not the worst either).
What he brings 5 on 5 far outweighs any "deficiencies" he might have on the power play. The Hawks just don't have great power play defensemen (anymore).
Anyone see the goal Byfuglien scored last night? - John Jaeckel
When Keith won the Norris he was shooting at close to 8% ...Hasn't been close to that for a full season since.
Leddy gets more pucks on net from the point than anyone and Seabrook has a better shot than Keith. ...But Keith plays more PP minutes usually.

It's things like this that make me question if Q is really as good of a coach as the numbers suggest, or is he just living with a horse shoe up his ass? |

Duncs is a good soldier...losing 7 teeth and coming back ? That takes a lot of phuckin' heart man.
He's a great skater, logs a lot of minutes (too many sometimes), and is a quality guy.
BUT
He's pretty soft, and as has been well discussed, is a LIABILITY on the pp.
I'd trade him in the off-season, clear that massive contract off the books and look to re-stock with some d that will knock the phuck outta someone in front of the net. - philco28
If he's as bad as we think, who is going to take his 5MM+ cap hit every year for the ext 7+ years? How much of that will the Hawks have to eat? |

Keith's shooting percentage is abysmal
2.6 so far this year
2.5 last
and a 4.0 the year before
He's too talented to be underachieving like this...

Some team might look at his deal, at least in the short term of say the next 3-4 years, as a bargain. Most high profile d-men due raises are going to making 6, 7, maybe $ 8 mil in the next few years as the market naturally inflates.

I'm pretty sure it's the total amounts of official shots on goal divided by goals scored...but don't quote me

Sounds right - but the issue with Keith is the shots that never become SOG - shin pads, etc. |

I think he just has a bad shot. The outlier was his norris season, not the other way around |

He's too good a player to be this poor when he winds up.

I'd be happy if he could hit friendly sticks in the slot with quick, low wristers or slappers...IF he could get them through.

The best thing the Hawks can do is hang a pair of shin pads in the opposing teams goal. Right under the crossbar. One in each corner.
Result: Keith's shooting percentage = 99.9%. |
