That video is pretty poor hockey.. Hey, I reserve my right to my opinion. We will see this time next year, if Barkov manages to find a NHL club to keep him next year. But, thats what we will find out in Oct. - bixll

He needs to serve his one year of military service so he won't be in the NHL regardless of being ready or not (I think he is his two-way game, size and face-off skills are top notch), |

lol, all things considered though Bix, hes a bourgeoisie among proletariates...but the league is still rather competitive |

I am not saying he sucks, but to get a good idea of his skill set from that video is not going to happen. |

I do believe you. I understand that you can see talent. I just have not seen him enough to make any assement of his play. Certainly not to compare him to the top of the draft class. |

Yeah this argument holds true, its tough to compare his style and play compared to those playing in North America. Game doesnt always translate. |

Heard there were ways to get him over to play in NA sooner. Is that wishful thinking or will Col. Klink come over & hall him back to boot camp? |

Fair enough.
Doesn't matter anyway because we are taking MacKinnon. |

He has good size. I would like to see a mean streek in him. Most players in the SEL are quality skaters, Ice size. Can he handle the abuse, he will not be used to the physical style in the NHL for sure. A good friend of mine played a couple of years in that league, says our men's over 35 league plays with more heart. |

Yea, your opinion, I respect that. I just don't get it. The 'kid' is dominant against MEN in a pro league. How is that poorer than being dominant against other kids in junior? |

Nate is one of the youngest kids in the league. And dominating. The Q this year is a great league,
At the end of the day, time will tell. I can't judge from what I have seen. Specially that youtube video. |

It's Finnish law so I doubt it. I'm trying to think of any Finn ever to go to the NHL the year after lemme check.
Petteri Nokelainen, Kari Lehtonen and Joni Pitkanen appear to be the only Finsever to join the NHL after his draft year if drafted at 17/18 like normal.
So maybe it's possible. Not sure, maybe they did it when they were 17?
