Ha. anyone taking on that contract is NOT giving up a 1st rounder, even if it means getting a higher on in the return. PHI is up against the cap and everyone knows it. I don't have any interest in Bryz but maybe:

Bryz + 1st rnd
Butler, MacDonald and some scrub prospect.

There will be plenty of FA goalies this year, plus teams *cough* *cough* desperate to trade one. Do you think Calgary will be an appealing market for FA's given their "re-tool"?

I think in that scenario Statsny & Col 1st for the #1 overall is more realistic. Salary dump for colorado & get their #1 dman. Calgary get 2 centres one that will help Feaster immediately if retool is reality.

Yea, I agree that this would likely be the scenario. I'm totally good with this expecially considering that Statsny is FA after next season. We could either sign him for less or move him at the deadline for another 1st and some prospects that nobody has ever heard of except for Weisbrod and Feaster (over a cup of coffee with Weisbrod).

Can we just draft a C and be done with it. MacKinnon or Barkov. There are some really good looking Dmen out there that will be available later in the 1st and 2nd rnd that we could look at. NO midget LW, we just don't need them, we have enough (Baertschi, Gaudreau etc.)

Actually our weakest area is actually at RW and basically any player that shoots right. Basically all we have are Nemisz and Aliu and I don't think they are going anywhere. Oh, we also have Arnold and Ramage.

*all things considered* the Flames need to draft the BEST player available. They dont have the luxury to pass on higher ranked players due to positional needs. They almost have an entire organizational need!
